Party $1mil AA hand

This hand is from the million dollar party tourney tonight. To preface this hand let me say that I have been playing limit holdem in the 5/10 - 30/60 range for 4 years but never ventured much into...

Re: Oh god make it stop!!!

Since I only got pokertracker earlier this year, I dont know how many hands total, but I had been winning 1.5 BB/HR for approx 2 years playing 15-25 hrs a week, two tables at a time.

Re: Oh god make it stop!!!

Number of hands we are talking about is approx 30K since May 1. My VPIP is actually on the low side from what I've read at 17.42 (this includes about 10K hands of 6 max games too though - excluding...

Oh god make it stop!!!

What is the longest amount of time (playing 20+ hours a week) that anyone has run bad. I don't mean in dollars or bets, just time in days/weeks. The reason I ask is that I have been running bad...

Re: TitL

I would add Feeny's Inside the Poker MInd. It deals rather extensively with identifying, analyzing, and doing away with tilt. GREAT book.

Re: music while playing

I like to use yahoo's internet music program (launchcast) playing in the background when playing online. Don't really think it helps or hurts, just enjoyment. Never used headphones in a live game...

I had just sat down in this game so I didn't have any reads or notes on others involved.

3 limpers to me and I raise AJ /images/graemlins/club.gif on the button. SB and the rest call.

Flop is...

Re: TT UTG

The more I think about it, the more I think its a great turn raise. Given the action so far, it looks like your hand is best at the moment and you did what you could to ensure it stayed that way. I...

Re: calling down with KK heads up

[ QUOTE ]
1. is to know where you stand. You can safely fold to a 3 bet here

[/ QUOTE ]
Or you can see a showdown for the same price. The raise has no value in it. Disregarding previous bets...

Re: Good free-card raise...?

Bet the turn, you most certainly have the best hand. I think your fear of a better Q is unfounded - Mp has done nothing but call and BB isn't going to raise preflop with AQ/KQ/QJ and not 3 bet the...

AK would probably just call at this point

[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
...pairs like QQ-1010 cannot call this raise

[/ QUOTE ]
So why do you want to raise again?

Re: calling down with KK heads up

I think you played it perfectly. I am mystified why other posters are recommending raising the flop. Why would you want to give QQ-1010 a reason to fold? Not to mention this is the party 15...

Re: Marginal Situation

I can't imagine him not 5 betting the flop with an overpair or atleast popping you again on the turn with the draw heavy board. I think if he had A10 he would raise again also since he perceives you...

Re: SB local vs. the Midwest Guy

SB should have led again on the turn, I think it would define the other two's hands better. River....if Midwest guys is really weak enough that he won't bet without the flush or a 9 then ok fold,...

Re: More skirt induced poker?

Bet the river. Sounds like mp2 will fold his AK and UTG will call one more with his KJ or some such.

CO and button limp, SB (2+2'r) completes, I check with 2 /images/graemlins/spade.gif3 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif.

Flop...

Re: Mirage 10/20, dialing up the turn aggression a notch

I like hand 1, but why check raise the turn in hand two?
He may very well fold AK, AQ etc that you don't want, and will certainly at least call down with an overpair. Why not check call the turn...

Here's another simple one.

Party 15/30

One early mid raiser (no notes or anything on him) I reraise from SB with A /images/graemlins/club.gifK /images/graemlins/diamond.gif, BB folds he calls....

This may seem standard but I would like a couple of opinions. SB is a pretty solid (from what I gather and have read) 2+2'r. I'm not real happy about the fold because of pot size and its now heads...

44 isolation

How bad is this?
One early limper - plays almost every hand and is very, very passive. The blinds are a little tighter than the usual party 15/30 crowd. I'm in cutoff with 44 and raise.

Re: Party 30/60, mixing up my play.

I had a hand very similar to this yesterday with KK. Preflop action was the same, only I led on the flop so he'd raise (which he did) and I just called. I led on turn again so he'd raise (which he...

Re: Cap this on the turn?

You are only behind to 9-6 with the idiot in between who's still calling. Yes cap the turn. Lead the river too, if raised again then just call. Unless the button way overplayed his hand, I think...
