44 isolation
How bad is this?
One early limper - plays almost every hand and is very, very passive. The blinds are a little tighter than the usual party 15/30 crowd. I'm in cutoff with 44 and raise. j.k. |

Re: 44 isolation
I'm not crazy about it. You still might have to deal with the button and the blinds, and if you make it past them your hand is still not that great. Unless the guy is so passive that any bet will cause you to fold, and loose enough that you can value bet otherwise.

Re: 44 isolation
passive how? passive as in calls calls calls calls but only bets when he's got a piece of it? if thats the case then you're play is bad. bad bad bad. he'll eventually hit something with which to call and justify...and i guarantee you it'll beat a pair of 4s.
BUT, if he's TIGHT passive and gives up on the flop when he misses (most of the time he will miss) and only calls when he's got a piece of it then go for it since you'll be winning a majority of the time without anything....and here you'll probably get to win with the best hand but realize that cards dont matter all that much if you're against a LONE tight, passive opponent AND the table LETS YOU isolate him in position....if any of those don't fit, muck that S**T. -Barron |
