Default Party 30/60, mixing up my play.

People at the table have been making good laydowns against me on the river, and calling me down at oppurtine times, so I figured I needed to do something to mix up my play. I guess this wasn't much, but is it a good start?

My opponent in this hand is new to the table. In his first orbit, he limped KK utg and capped when the action came back to him. Even against 2 opponents he couldn't lay it down on the ace high flop. I flopped a set of Aces on that hand and took the pot. That's the only hand I recall.

8 handed 30/60 LHE on party. I'm UTG with red aces.

I raise. The next two players fold, and MP 3 bets me. It's folded back to me, and I call his 3 bet.

** Dealing Flop ** [ 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ]
I check. He bets. I raise. He 3 bets. I call.

** Dealing Turn ** [ 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ]
I check. He bets. I raise. He calls.

** Dealing River ** [ 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ]
I bet with the intention of calling a raise.

Thoughts? Comments?

-thanks in advance

can't see anything wrong with it.

standard and you likely caught him lesser paired (JJ or QQ).
as tyler would say, "ni han"

I like the way you played it. I think Clark played a hand nearly identical to this one and posted about it. Well played in my opinion, not just because clark did the same as you.

nice job, I think SGS is right that you caught someone on a lower pair, unless he is bad and was overplaying something like KQc which I doubt.

I was just curious as to how you'd normally play this. It seems pretty standard to me. I don't play 30, is the limp-reraise standard here?

Everyone is wrong. Leading the turn is much better. You don't risk a free card, and unless he plays like a girl you get 3 bets against an overpair (and sometimes less).

I like capping the flop and leading at the turn, but that's nitpicking.

I assume this is to say you weren't planning on 3-betting as folding here would be batty.

If he raised the river...why would you not 3-bet?

either way its close.

sometimes when zee bets he'll be called down and not raised. other times he will be raised and can get an extra bet the c-r wouldn't provide...but then again the opponent may not call the river after being 3bet on the turn.

you may be correct, but i don't think its a noticable difference either way.

I bet out on the turn. I don't want AK or KcQc to check behind on the turn and JJ will probably raise.
