Re: Reading What The Enemy Reads
[ QUOTE ]
Anyway, my point is just that I don't think he's giving bad advice as much as he's emphasizing avoiding the things that will get new players in trouble.
If I didn't make that point...

Re: An odd one
[ QUOTE ]
With five opponents in a low limit game...I have no idea. But whereas I might well bet the flop, it would not be so that I could "probe" for an 8, if that is what the initial respondant...

Re: Books?
Very good. The first part of the book gets a little slow, but when he gets into the trading psychology, the 2nd half of the book, it is very powerful.

Re: An odd one
Have to agree that betting the flop was the proper play. You had position and no one showing strength.
With this flop, I would rather do some probing at the small bet level rather than call a big...

Re: General pot odds/pot equity question
Unless I am missing something, you DO have the pot odds to call. You are slightly better than 2:1 to hit your nut flush by the river when you are 4 suited on the flop.

Re: I am on a mission.
I think it is an excellent idea. Kind of wish I would have done something similar. This keeps it exciting...makes it a challenge, regardless of the amount.
Is there enough limit Omaha 8/B at...

Re: ATs hand.
You're right too, checking the flop is weak-tight. I am not disagreeing with you, nor am I saying Avatar played it wrong, but you only have a draw in a small pot and you're against a calling...

Re: ATs hand.
Something to consider (I will be accused of being weak-tight). After the flop, where are you? You have a gutshot and a backdoor……heads up! Very weak holding and bad odds against someone who has...

I think I'm doing the same things. I think those things are the common traps based on the suggested strategies. I mean, you're supposed to be aggressive with marginal hands in large...

Re: What is the first book I should read?
I agree with ctv1116. WLLHE gets some grief on these forums but it is still a very good book. It is not as advanced and targeted as SSHE, but it is the best book to start with, even if you already...

I also had a reversal of fortune after reading/implementing SSH. There are some flaws in the use of Ed's "ideal" plays. The flaw is not so much the overall play itself, the flaw is in...

You make alot of good points. UB and PP are different worlds. You can win more hands at UB, but you don't win much money. You can win (or loose) more money at Party.
More importantly, you’re point...
