Default Newbie Question - Info on Multi-table-ing

Hi,

I am new to this forum. I have been playing poker for several years in Casinos and about a year on-line.

I play at PartyPoker and want to know what tips you have for multi-table-ing. I usually play 2-3 games at a time and have a hard time managing them. I just recently found out how to minimize my display resolutions so that I can partially see more than one table at a time. I am blown away from hearing that people play up to 8 tables at a time. How is this done? I don't want to play 8, just 3-4 efficiently.

Please be nice ...this is my first post. If I overlooked this topic please let me know where I should look. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks and happy winning

I would also like to know how someone plays 8 tables. I played 3 once and the frustration was more than I could handle. I usually play 2 at most.

Multiple high resolution monitors (I have 3 1600x1200 resolution monitors) and practice (once you can do 3, add the 4th, then the 5th etc.). PlayerView helps a ton with managing good tables and making quick reads.

What illunious says about adding one table at a time when you can handle it is the best advice.

Also, I believe it's tougher for some people to multitable limits they are slightly uncomfortable playing. If you move up to a new limit make sure you play well, not making "scared money" mistakes, before adding more tables.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the info. For now, I think 3 games is the most I can handle . Hey, not to sound like a "newbie" but when you use multiple monitors it would seem like you would be looking a the same screen info twice. With one computer, how do you get different things on the two screens? I will take a look at Playerview. Thanks.

Windows extends the desktop onto the 2nd monitor, gives you twice the screen real-estate.
