Default ATs hand.

MP3 = 24/4. Bit of a calling station.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="666666">3 folds</font>, MP3 calls, <font color="666666">4 folds</font>.

Flop: (5.50 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP3 calls.

Turn: (3.75 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">MP3 raises</font>, Hero calls.

River: (7.75 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="CC3333">MP3 bets</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 8.75 BB
<font color="green">Main Pot: 7.75 BB, won by MP3.</font>
<font color="green">Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to MP3.</font>

Standard?

That's how I'd play it.

Happy holidays

Pretty standard. Can't do anything differently.

Something to consider (I will be accused of being weak-tight). After the flop, where are you? You have a gutshot and a backdoor……heads up! Very weak holding and bad odds against someone who has already called your pre-flop raise…even if he is a calling station.

I would have checked and called the flop and the turn. Even though the turn gives you a 4 flush, it is not likely a scare card to MP3 and he would have certainly called your bet at a minimum, and since he is something of a calling station there is the chance he might have checked right behind you. It saves 1 BB and let’s face it, it is a small pot, and even with the Ace…you’re chasing…why not do it cheaply as possible.

What does "MP3 = 24/4" mean?

You're right. That's weak tight. It's an easy bet heads up on the flop with a straight draw and backdoor draw to the nut flush.

24/4 means that the opponent voluntarily saw the flop 24 percent of the time, and raised it preflop 4 percent of the time.

Fold PF--ATs is a questionable raise PF when UTG--it's also a questionable call. You're out of position and can only gut yourself. Better to call and hope for many callers otherwise if someone calls your raise you have to assume he has you beat.

carlo

No way, definitely not. ATs is way too good to fold UTG.

You're right too, checking the flop is weak-tight. I am not disagreeing with you, nor am I saying Avatar played it wrong, but you only have a draw in a small pot and you're against a calling station...what is the raise accomplishing? If you do hit your hand, most calling stations will pay you off anyhow.

To be precise, it is a gutshot straight draw. My only point is how strong is a gutshot and a backdoor flush draw heads up in a small pot?

Anyhow, thanks for the explanation.
