Re: JJ

In hand one I would consider betting the river if I know that I am going to call a bet anyway. You never know when someone might fold KK or QQ. Obviously I would fold to a raise. Costs the same bet,...

Re: trouble with junkies

You are a rock. You won't suffer too many huge losses in a session, but you won't win much either. You need to raise weaker hands, especially if you are first in from middle position onwards. You...

Re: Folding a set of Aces hurts.

You have to call this. Suppose that you were drawing to an OE straight draw with J10 and you were villain on this hand. Would you not be tempted to bet out the river in the hope that some bozo (:-))...

Re: Common problem: KK gets donked by an A-high flop

With no draws on the table, what else can the bettor have but an ace? Unless he is complete idiot, he is hardly likely to bet second pair into a pre-flop raise with two others still to act. More...

Poker Stars Hand Histories

I have recently been playing at Poker Stars. Does anyone else find that it is taking a heck of a long time for hand histories to come through once you request them? The last time I played the site...

Re: AKo, positive I lead the whole way.

This hand is not strong enough to slow play. Get your money in while you think you are ahead. Better to win a small pot than lose a large one. Nobody ever went bust by taking profits etc etc.

Re: What would you do?

If you made this play planning to call a three bet, then I think it is very much minus EV. The odds against spiking a 7 on the turn make the call unprofitable.
Against a player known to try to...

Re: What would you do?

Grunch:-
If he is as passive as you say, I fold this with the pot being so small.

Re: Working on hand reading..

I would bet the flop, planning to call a raise by Button and check raise the turn. Betting the flop gives you a better idea of where you stand for the rest of the hand. All you know after the way you...

Re: Limping with AA?

Does anyone think that it is ever correct to limp AA on the button first in with tight blinds? Personally I think that kind of logic is crazy. When an unknown limps on the button when I am in the...

Re: QQ, hand protection, and being the calling station

Sure, if the pot is short handed. The problem here is that I have a hand that I think is the best at the moment and I want to do what I can to ensure that it remains the best. If I raise here, it is...

Re: Review: Hand 3, 88

Once the flop got raised, Hero should go into call down mode. There is a chance that his opponent has a 5 or a pair of sevens or that he is just trying to scare him off the pot with nothing. Maybe he...

We're talking about the "Two Overpair Hands" section, correct? In the hand they give, the board is 9 /images/graemlins/club.gif 7 /images/graemlins/club.gif 3 /images/graemlins/spade.gif....

Re: QQ, hand protection, and being the calling station

I would raise the flop to try to persuade anyone with a weak Ace or King to fold. I'm not sure that this is the best time to be trying to protect here with a hand that is so vulnerable to overcards....

Re: Hit a pair on the turn but I still ain\'t pleased.

Grunching:-
You should be check/calling the flop for one bet, since you have the implied odds to go for the gutshot coupled with the backdoor flush possibilities. When the PFR checks I start to...

Re: 22 vs TAG

I prefer to try for a check raise on the flop in the hope of driving out MP1 if he is thinking of sticking around with overcards. The call on the turn by TAG is a bit strange. If he had a big pair,...

Re: Call or raise nuts flush draw?

[ QUOTE ]
I would raise this every single time given that I raised PF. By raising, I increase my chances of winning if I can drive out a hand like A7, and my PF aggression gives me a little fold...

Call or raise nuts flush draw?

What is the correct action in this situation? Sorry I can't convert the hand, but it was played at Pacific and I don't see any way to re-create the hand from that site.
I was on the button with Ad...

Re: Softness of Micro-Limit Ring Games

Sounds like I should give Pacific a try. Two queries- 1. How do you clear the bonus and 2. Can you download hand histories onto Poker Tracker?

Re: Softness of Micro-Limit Ring Games

Can't comment on .50/1 as I haven't played at that limit for a while. I can give a view on 1/2 however.
I have played most of my online poker at UB. There are a few decent regulars there, but you...

Re: Am i allowed to just fold this flop?

I don't mind calling one bet, but I am not raising here, and I am certainly not calling any more bets on the turn unless I know my opponent likes to bet his draws into a pre-flop raise.

Re: Am i allowed to just fold this flop?

That's fair enough if you have seen your opponent bet into a MW pot against a pre-flop raiser before. What if you have no reads though? Is it correct to assume that he is a dork?

Re: Am i allowed to just fold this flop?

Why worry about runner runner freak straights or sets making when I don't intend betting the turn unless my hand improves? The only hands I would be raising to shut out are hands that would improve...
