Re: Final Tbl Problem

I played this hand at level-2, wanting Op to think I was very strong with a small turn bet since (probably) I was pot-committing myself to call a push, this in addition to the obvious no difference...

Re: Pick My Major and 2nd Semester Classes for Me!!! (OT)

Sorry, I'm too old to have any advice based upon what schools are teaching today. When I was in College in the 60s, we majored in rebellion, sex, and drugs.

Re: Push Flop with OESD and middle pair?

I have to say your actions did not occur to me.

After such a wonderful Flop for the Blinds in a 4-way Pot, I cannot fathom the initial Check. This is the type of Flop that hits a Blind very hard...

Re: RESULTS

Seems like an easy Fold with 5 players yet to act behind because if someone re-raises, a Call has essentially discarded 15% of your stack. The table apparently respects UTG+1 and your hand+position...

Board Pairs Big On The Turn - Now What?

I had a nasty hand tonight that is still bothering me enough six hours later to post my play and invite another shower of flaming mockery in exchange for the wisdom of the good players.

About 20...

Where\'s Josh Arieh?

I recall that Josh Arieh showed up in the Forum last fall to "explain" his WSOP-04 behavior and promised that we would be seeing some theoretical posts from him by now.

Where are you, Josh, still...

Re: How much to bet on the river

Thanks for replying, David. I have much respect for you and have learned a lot from your posts.

So what you're saying, then, IN THE EARLY ROUNDS, is that if I flop a set against a great player...

Re: How much to bet on the river

Probably no one will read this, it's so late in the thread, but hopefully someone who responded will see it and help me out. (Especially my hero, FossilMan.)

During the first level of my MTTs...

Re: Greg Raymer\'s incident makes front page of Yahoo

Dear Greg,

As someone over 60 who (in the "old days") used to carry large sums of gambling money regularly, I have a lot of experience with muggers. I've been robbed at gunpoint three times, and...

Do You Fold This Boat?

A real hand from a $6 MTT with 325 starters.
Down to 90 or so, Blinds are 100/200.
Z is a recent arrival to the table, which has been playing tight judging by the first 3 hands viewed. Then this...

Oops, forgot AJ.

Re: What are you doing with small-middle pockets late?

As you set this up, you have another 2-3 hands before your next BB and more than enough after to be a mild threat to the middle stacks for another full orbit.

What is so desperate about this...

You do not raise preflop as it is a coinflip.

If you call on the flop, you probably get the same postflop action without risking as much. Indeed, if someone had made a flush or...

Re: Self analysis on a steal hand, 2+2 advice much appreciated.

I always get a huge kick out of the presumptions people make. About every other tournament I'll Limp early with a huge hand and bust someone OTB who thinks he can move me off my "weak" hand with a...

Re: Any way to not be crippled in this hand?

I'd put all my chips in PF after Op's aggressive re-raise.
Why invite this sort of disaster? AA is not invincible.

Re: Is this an obviously bad call?

Ending one's tournament by calling an ALLin w/ AK is probably the most frequent story I read in poker forums.

I would have shut down after the Flop and checked down the hand.
