Do You Fold This Boat?
A real hand from a $6 MTT with 325 starters.
Down to 90 or so, Blinds are 100/200. Z is a recent arrival to the table, which has been playing tight judging by the first 3 hands viewed. Then this hand: Z (t2700) has 9-2 in the BB; All fold to OTB (t2000) who Limps; SB Folds, Z Checks (2 players). (t500) FLOP is TTT (!) Z and OTB Check. (t500) TURN is 9 [r]. Z bets 300, OTB Calls. (t1100) RIVER is 3. Z bets 400, OTB raises ALLin. ???????????????? 1. Anyone fault Z's bets? (If you don't like the 400 value-bet after the river, then just pretend Z checked and OTB pushed in.) 2. What could the Button in a $6 MTT have besides the case ten with paint (or nothing at all) that would be consistent with the betting? 3. Would you Fold Z's boat? 4. At what level of competition would one find a player bluffing from the Button in this situation? |

Re: Do You Fold This Boat?
At this level everyone slowplays everything. On the other hand, I have seen people at this level that would make this all-in bet after hiting the 3 on the riv. However, based on your quick read and how the hand was played I think I would lay it down in this situation.

Re: Do You Fold This Boat?
Betting seems ok, maybe a higher bet on the turn would've given you more information about what he might have.
I'd fold when he goes all-in with that board. He may very well sit with another 9 though. |
