Final Tbl Problem
NLHE: MTT Final table, three remain from 200+ starters.
Winner gets = $500; 2nd gets $220; 3rd gets $200. OTB (Z) - t58k SB - t66k BB - t33k Blinds are 4k/8k You hold J9s and Raise to 16k; SB Calls; BB Folds. (t40k) Flop is 974 [r] and SB Checks. Z bets 12000 and SB pushes in. Action at the final tbl has been furious, due to the high blinds. Someone has been busted the last 3 straight hands. No good read on SB who has made one steal before moving into the blinds. I appreciate members' thoughts on this problem. Do you call? |

Re: Final Tbl Problem
Hum very tough. I think your flop bet looked very week and gave SB hope to push you off a missed hand. I dont see how a lay down here would be correct.
If there was a huge difference from 2nd and 3rd payout I might think about folding. But seeing the payouts this is pretty well a auto call I would think. |

Re: Final Tbl Problem
I played this hand at level-2, wanting Op to think I was very strong with a small turn bet since (probably) I was pot-committing myself to call a push, this in addition to the obvious no difference between 2/3 so therefore Op MUST know that I will call - I thought. After he went ALLin I realized I had made a misplay and that he probably had slow-played a better kicker to a nine -- which is exactly what he had done (A9).
I posted this hand to see if anyone would fold here after my misplay. I think I should have mucked it because anything can happen if you're still in the game. Actually, best play was to simply muck PF. Limping PF is weak IMO, since you must fold if the SB raises with his ace and otherwise will surely get broke if SB simply completes and you both Check after the Flop. (The Turn card was the case-9!) Thanks for your comment. |

Re: Final Tbl Problem
Dr. Z-
On these ratios, I push or fold every hand. If opponents are tight, I push J9s. If they are loose, I fold. [ QUOTE ] Action at the final tbl has been furious, due to the high blinds. [/ QUOTE ] Sounds to me like a fold. If I did misclick and minraise this preflop, I would get all-in on the flop every time. Later, Che |
