Re: Correct Play in a Large Pot?

It may be a large pot, but given preflop and flop action, you have to assume that not only is your hand no good, but there are a lot of ways for you to "improve" and still lose.

The T is not a...

Re: what of preflop limp re-raisers?

I would only be scared of AA/KK if the limp-reraiser was in early position. However, I've seen way too many people limp from mid-late position and then reraise with marginal hands because they want...

Re: A9o playable?

If I remember correctly, I think SSH says you can play A9o from the button in loose games. If people routinely play any ace in the game you're in, then your 9 kicker is going to be good often enough...

Re: Typical situation

I think you should call this down HU. The CO's play screams weakness because he open-limped from such a late position (and didn't reraise preflop when given the chance, effectively ruling out a...

then it will cost you less to try and draw out

This is dangerous thinking.

Re: QJs help on the turn.

I think you should go into call-down mode when the villain bet into you on the turn. If the villain hit his wierd two pair or something, then it will cost you less to try and draw out and it's...

Re: what to do with this hand?

I think it's safe to fold on the flop given the action, but I have to admit that the turn and river action looks weird especially since there were no obvious draws on the flop. The only...

Re: Slowplaying

It doesn't matter what he actually had in the hand. I agree with previous replies - you have to start raising earlier than the river. I think raising the turn is the best play. As a preflop...

Big main pot, big side pot, and I don\'t get to see anyone\'s hand?

Live loose aggressive 4/8 game (10 handed).

SB is a dangerous aggressive player, CO is a clueless calling station, everyone thinks I'm a rock.

Preflop: I am MP1 with Jc Jd. UTG calls, UTG+1...

Re: Two more hands for comment

Hand #1: JJ is a hard hand to play if an overcard is out. If you raise the flop, it makes your decisions on later streets easier. In addition, it reduces the odds for people with weak draws...

Re: Set of 3\'s in BB

I like the way you played it. Preflop you should go ahead and call two more bets because you're getting good enough odds to try and flop a set with 5 players in the pot.

I think that a raising...

Re: Is this terrible play?

I don't know how you consider a turn bet a value bet. You are heads up. The odds of hitting your straight are 4.5-1 against. You'd need 5 people to call your bet on the turn for it to be a value...

Re: 33 flops a boat

You limped in preflop and it was raised behind you. You hit a perfect flop and your hand is well disguised. Why not go for check-raise on the flop? The likely bettor (MP2) is to your left, so you...

Re: Bet for Value?

I'd be nervous with that many callers. Is everybody really calling with hands like Ax, KQ, TJ, etc? People play any two suited cards in these low limit games. Why reward the idiot who played 5h3h...

Bad river call in a big pot?

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

The game is loose and aggressive. Both the BB and UTG+1 are VP$IP > 50% players.

I checked the flop hoping to raise a bet from late position. However,...

Re: I\'m just cold calling all over the place....

I think you played it well. You would prefer to put as little money in on the turn as possible, but you're getting more than enough pot odds to continue. The first time you called 2 bets on the...

Re: Middle/Bottom pair with a multi-way checked flop and turn...

After the flop was checked around, I would almost automatically bet out on the turn. You can probably pick up the pot right there. People may even think you whiffed on a C/R on the flop, and be...

Re: Best Game for Teaching Poker to a Newbie

I think it would be hard to teach poker with just the three of you. Invite some friends so that you have 6-8 people. Get a case of beer and make it a poker night. That way she'll be exposed to the...

Re: Hint: It\'s in my diaper and it is not a toaster.

I think this hand demonstrates why you can call an EP raise with AQs and not AQo. With AQs, you can always bail yourself out by backing into a royal.

Re: What you got sucka

There was a 3-way cap preflop. Why not try and get yourself into a raising war on the flop? People obviously like their hands. You could get multiple bets from a hand like KQ. Also the pot is big...

Re: A9s UTG+2 - Any problems with my play?

I'd limp preflop, but since you raised preflop, why not bet the flop? You can represent an overpair or AQ. That way when you bet again on the turn when the second Q comes, you'll get more respect. ...

Re: Live vs Online - Making the Adjustments

I have a higher B&M win rate than online as well. I think this is primarily because it is so much easier to get to know how B&M players play. The human brain is way better at associating behaviour...

Re: Pretend this is 2/4 and evaluate the flop

Why did MP3 cold-call you and then cap when he had the opportunity to see the flop for only three bets? Is he type of player who caps for fun?

You got about the best flop you could hope for. If...

Re: $2/$4 Hand. Not agg enough?

I think you should lead out with a bet on the flop. You raised preflop, so make somebody else prove to you that he has a better hand.

Given your line of checking the flop, I don't think you...

Re: This has happened to me several times recently.

The same thing has been happening to me too. I usually fire a bet on the flop. If I get it heads up, I'll fire again on the turn. If I get raised, I usually call with the intention of folding to a...
