Re: Tilt - Episode 8 Official Thread
Yeah, everyone is being very snooty. They know every detail of every show, yet they hate it with a passion. Why not just watch something else if its that bad?

Re: Tilt - Episode 8 Official Thread
Judging from the length and content of this thread, Tilt is a raging success. I would watch it, but I don't have cable or satellite. This thread is a lot like listening to gear heads talk about The...

Re: The trailer
I like it. It is a soap opera, and it is good for poker (read lot more dead money getting interested in the game). I wanna see Hellmuth loose to Everest and meltdown. That would be classic.

Re: Greenstein on Hellmuth...im confused?!?
From what I've seen Phil likes to open up when he is at a table with weaker players and the blinds are starting to be meaningful. He briefly mentions this in his book, but doesn't go into detail.

Re: Dutch Boyd/Pokerstars
I heard he was in some legal trouble because of online gaming fraud. I'm not sure, though, probably just a rumor.

Re: Negreanu and Jesus
I always felt like casinos and poker rooms were sanctuaries for making fun of Christians. Isn't gambling a sin? It is kinda like making fun of the Amish on TV.

Re: Mucking Aces third hand..........a good thing
LOL, I've read all the same stuff you have, plus a nice chunk on tournament poker. He should have raised pre-flop, yes. That aside, he had to lay it down. There is no need to always play the math...

Re: DId I Play A/A Wrong?
I don't think going all-in pre-flop with A-A early in these tournaments in situations like this is a bad play. UTG+1 is an idiot and would have likely called you anyway. However, my experience is...

Re: Did I Play This Right?
[ QUOTE ]
They're fish. You have probably the best hand. You NEED to raise pre-flop. Raising pre-flop is not just about making them fold. If they call you with a worse hand (and you WANT them to...

Re: Did I Play This Right?
Honestly, when everyone turned over their cards and I had the best hand I was suprised. I figured that just out of pure luck that someone would have QQ or something. But, I also realized that it...

Re: Did I Play This Right?
Not very much fun (I can basically play nothing but AA, KK, QQ, AK, and AQs for an hour and a half), not incredibly profitable, they are all irritating frat boys, can't bluff at all, etc. I am fairly...

Re: Did I Play This Right?
The only reason I limped here is because of how bad they are. They look at their cards and decide if they are going to play to the river. Pre-flop raise has little equity, after all 'you don't even...

Re: Protecting a hand vs. getting more chips
There is absolutely no reason to slow play a hand like this in an MTT. You can't reach into your pocket a buy more chips. Take the pot down and don't risk loosing chips in an MTT that are crucial...

Did I Play This Right?
Local bar MTT with idiots. I'm UTG with AKs early in the tournament; yet to play a hand. I limp. UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, UTG+3 raises three times the size of the bb, fold, fold, CO goes all in,...

Re: You are waiting a hand to play and...
The thing about waiting is that people start to make you a tight player (whether thats true or not). It sets you up for a really low risk bluff at the blinds or something. Suppose you've been...
