Re: I need computer help
If you can tell your poker software to connect to localhost, then you might be able to get it setup. Go take a look at a piece of tunneling software called httport. I used it to use IM clients at...

Re: clearing pokertracker?
I'm not to bother reading the documentation for you, but an easy answer is to delete the contents of the database with Microsoft Access. Now, read the docs and go to the PTrack forums.

Re: Modafinil (nm)
I would look into finding research on modafinil before bothering to acquire it. I read one study where modafinil was shown to be no better than caffeine at increasing alertness while sleep deprived...

Re: Bankroll Question...
Shouldn't make a difference, assuming no degredation of play as the number of tables increases. It's effectively like playing faster. Statistically, I think that means you should reach your average...

Re: The End of Poker
ESP (unless you want to use a definition given by a recent poster) is bullshit. Research into any traditional pseudoscience tends to involve poorly designed experiments by over-the-hill scientists or...

Re: Ed Miller\'s NL Book?
I thought I read a post by Mason saying the book was both newbie limit AND newbie no-limit (something I thought strange for 2+2)... that, or that Miller was going to be working on two books, which...

Re: KK Confusion
In SSH, the example has you make a set on the flop, and then the river brings a three-flush, four straight. The pot's big, you're bet into and getting 12:1--call. Folding is not just wrong because of...

Re: Bottom set vs. LAG that won\'t let up
I think I'd cap everything too because the flop is pretty ragged. Even if you happened to be behind, surely capping with a set turned house is correct everytime, barring some very specific reads....

Re: I Hate Overcards (postflop) [hands]
Yeah, I guess in hand one I'll have to be less timid.
In hand three, I think the pot is short .1BB to give the implied odds to call and draw, and just break even.

Re: Finished first read of SSH
I think I remember 90BB being a reasonable standard deviation for an already winning player. You're a neophyte, in what may be some of the loosest games: it's probably not unexpected.
Furthurmore,...

I Hate Overcards (postflop) [hands]
I'm not sure what sort of etiquette there is on the limit of hands one should post. These are all similarily themed, though. If you finish up a session, study, and then have five to ten hands you...

Re: AQs against a loose passive
I would think a loose/passive player betting the flop means TP or better, and maybe even AJo. Then again, he's in bluff position, and a check-raise is the way to go if you really hit. If it was TP...

Re: TP2K on a board with a multitude of draws
I don't think you're going to get any valuable information from a raise. Almost any one of the other players is correct to call quite a few hands, and if the bettor isn't aggressive then he won't...
