In SSH, the example has you make a set on the flop, and then the river brings a three-flush, four straight. The pot's big, you're bet into and getting 12:1--call. Folding is not just wrong because of the large pot, but because you don't want people to bluff you in the future with scare cards out of such a large pot.
But here you're likely behind on the flop, and the river is bad too. Furthermore, someone has called already, so you're considering an overcall. I don't think it would be a crime to fold. But maybe you should overcall because your strong action on the flop.
