Re: Pocket 10\'s

I'm thinking he has 88, possibly 55. If he's REALLY loose, 22 isn't out of the question on these tables. Anything higher than JJ and I would expect a raise PF, but anything lower than 99 without...

Re: Any way this could have been avoided?

He had second pair on the flop, and your <1/2 pot bet gave him odds to call, especially if there was a flush possibility. On the turn, he had third pair and an OESD. He made a mistake calling there...

Re: What\'s your move?

Yes, 3xBB is my standard raise. I don't like to vary my raises, but I might consider something more like 3xBB+1BB/limper. In this case, that would be a raise to $5.

I was a little concerned...

Re: What\'s your move?

Yeah, I wondered if not coming over the top of his reraise PF was a problem. When he limp-reraised, though, I was immediately concerned about AA. This was a rock, at a fairly aggressive table, so...

Re: Why move up from $25NL to $50NL?

In short, YES!

I moved up to Party NL50 about 10 days ago, and my BB/100 has actually gone UP. (Yes, I know that's probably due a little to variance, but I expect it to level out at about 5BB/100...

What\'s your move?

In a fairly short period (~35 hands), I had tagged UTG+1 as a rock, with no PFR and 15% VIP.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (10 handed)

BB ($105.26)
UTG ($43.5)
UTG+1 ($57.6)
UTG+2...

Re: T9o on the button - Loose table - PS $25NL

Yeah, a fold is going to happen some times. The real question, I guess, is whether a smaller raise is more profitable. My thinking on the push is that he's already got almost 1/2 his stack in the...

Re: PreFlop Raise with QQ

If I'm the first raiser, I always bet the same amount, 5xBB. Others prefer 3x or 4x, some even like 6x. And you also have the (3+Limpers)xBB players. The important thing is to be consistent. Find...

Re: KK w/ A on flop

No opinions on this?

KK is a good hand for me, but I feel like I'm too weak when an A flops.

KK w/ A on flop

No hand to analyse here, just a general question. Suppose you are in early to mid position w/ KK. You raise to 4xBB PF and get 2-4 callers. Flop comes Axx rainbow. What do you do?

I know a lot...

I agree that this probably was a good fold. Now let's turn the hand around and look at what Villian did. Assume he did, in fact, have 9T. Was his raise on the turn smart or should he...

Re: How to play this AKs

This one's tough, because he's shown no aggression on this hand, calling all your bets, whether raises, small (1/3 pot) bets or larger overbets (2x pot).

As you said, he'd been pretty aggressive...

Re: AKs, $50 Party NL - Tough spot

I would have made it $10 to go PF. There's already $8.50 in the pot, so it seems to me your $8 raise is a bit on the light side. You're not too far off, though, so no real problem with that move.

I think it is a very disciplined fold. I do not see a rational player who would call a push with a worse hand, but you might push him off a slightly better one.

Re: How to play A-A?

It's all about position and the other players. Take these scenarios:

S1: You are UTG w/ a full table (9 others). The table has shown itself to be very passive.
In this situation, I would...

Re: What to do here?

What is the "typical" player like at PS at this level? Would they, a la Party, be likely to call your PFR from BB w/ 55?

For me, the biggest worry is 99. Given the CR on the flop, then...

Re: Ultimate Bet - Bet pot button

I would say no. In general, UB players are more tight-passive than those at Party (as well as PS and Paradise, from what I read here), so the pot bets are to be respected a little more. Of course,...

Re: What is the hand you\'ve won the most money with in PT?

3k hands (yes, I know it's a very small sample - just started using PT recently)

2. KK
3. AKo (Won big $ twice when I flopped the nut straight.)

Loser:
1. QQ (Only have 7 -...

Re: Lay KK down on the flop

There are only two hands to be concerned about, I think, AA and JJ. Would he slow play AA PF like that? If not, then JJ is the only real worry. (I'm discounting 77 and 55, as he would be less...
