Re: KK hand input needed.

I have to think that that Queen on the turn sucks for you. I might have gone for a cheaper showdown at that point.

Re: KK Looking for a default play

Well you did have two people cold call your raise. They have to have something. And my guess, for average party micro limit players, it's either soooted or Ace-crap.

Re: KK Looking for a default play

I don't think how you played this is all that bad. I definitely don't think should be calling any raises. This is a bad board for you. There are many hands that beat you.

Less than ideal flop for pocket Jacks

I've only been at the table for an orbit or two, so no real reads on the opponents. Haven't seen them do anything crazy though.

Re: overpair w/ a rag flop

I think I would have led the flop for a pot-size bet and I don't think I would have put in that third raise on the turn.

The flop check/call followed by the turn check/raise is an indication of...

Re: 1st 2/4 hand

I agree that cold-callers are in general worrisome and that if we're behind already we have little chance of improving, but unless he's got a set and is putting us specifically on top pair how can he...

Re: 1st 2/4 hand

What do you think about calling the additional $17 on the flop -- pot is pretty big ~$130 -- and checking the turn with the intention of folding to any serious action?

Re: 1st 2/4 hand

I also find myself at times suffering from overplaying top pairs syndrome. Is leading the flop for a pot-size bet too much with this many people in or do you think that he made his mistake on the...

Re: Second best flush

Without a read I think I dump it, but that may be kind of weak.

Re: Too weak with AA?

I'm wondering if a turn checkraise is a good idea here, considering how the flop action makes it tough to put the villian on a hand.

Re: River decision...a JJ hand

If there was only one other opponent do you guys think this would be a check/call or bet/fold to a raise situation?

My feeling is that against one person you will lose most of the time but will be...

Re: First post, getting started w/ an 88 hand

This is true. Having just two overcards can't be counted as having 6 full outs on any given flop with undercards. You have to take into account that even if your overcards come they could help...

Also I think that having the action checked around on the flop doesn't tell you anything about your hand. What do you plan to do on the turn in this case?

I can agree on not check raising. That's not what I would do either. I was using it as a way of stressing that a single bet does not really protect the hand well against loose passive...

Re: First post, getting started w/ an 88 hand

I don't think this is right. I haven't done the math, but think about it: after the flop there are 47 unseen cards and just three of them are queens. I think just by probability it is more likely...

I second the taking a break suggestion. I was having a bad down swing and I took a few weeks off. It just helps to clear your head so you can start making better decisions at the table. Down...
