Re: First post, getting started w/ an 88 hand
I really hope you are not calling with overcards whenever you are getting 6.5:1 because that would be a huge leak...

Re: First post, getting started w/ an 88 hand
This is true. Having just two overcards can't be counted as having 6 full outs on any given flop with undercards. You have to take into account that even if your overcards come they could help someone else more than they help you, e.g. completing flush or straight draws, reverse domination situations, etc.

Re: First post, getting started w/ an 88 hand
Oh my god no! The only decision is between limping and raising. If you never folded a pocket pair UTG at a Party 0.50/1 or 1/2 table you would be doing ok by me.

Re: First post, getting started w/ an 88 hand
[ QUOTE ]
SSH has a very similiar example where there authors say you should bet this type of flop. (p. 270) [/ QUOTE ] I'm trying to find this example. Is this the right one, I see the one with pocket 7s but it says to fold? (SB bet, BB calls w/ flop of Jc6c4s before it gets to Hero). |

Re: First post, getting started w/ an 88 hand
I think playing the pair is an automatic, but I'm still waiting for an explanation that satisfies me that betting the flop into this big field is correct.
