KK Looking for a default play
PokerStars 0.05/0.10 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero raises, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 4 folds, BB calls. Flop: (10.40 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, Hero bets, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, BB folds. Turn: (6.20 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, MP1 calls. River: (8.20 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, MP1 calls. Final Pot: 10.20 BB Results in white below: Hero has Kc Ks (two pair, kings and nines). MP1 has 7s Ac (two pair, aces and nines). Outcome: MP1 wins 10.20 BB. This is happening a lot. I have no indication that the villain might have an ace since he hasn't show any aggression. Am I supposed keep thowing money in the pot? Weak aces do that many many times against big pocket pairs. What's the play here? |

Re: KK Looking for a default play
I'd like it better if you had the K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Re: KK Looking for a default play
I don't think how you played this is all that bad. I definitely don't think should be calling any raises. This is a bad board for you. There are many hands that beat you.

Re: KK Looking for a default play
Well let's suppose that there are not 4 diamonds on the board. Still, is there aany way you can suspect a weak ace by a passive player and slow down?

Re: KK Looking for a default play
Well you did have two people cold call your raise. They have to have something. And my guess, for average party micro limit players, it's either soooted or Ace-crap.

Re: KK Looking for a default play
Reads help here a lot. Anything at all...
Against a tight player, I check call the river. He's calling down and there are a million and one draws on that board that are complete. Against a loose player, I play the same. He could be calling down with anything really, but it sucks when he shows a small diamond. |

Re: KK Looking for a default play
DISCUSS THIS LOADS PEOPLE - HAPPENS TO ME ALL THE TIME!
On this, because the 2nd 9 on the turn i check/call, check/call. But no reads... So its tough to judge really. I definatly check/call river - Hes calling down with something. THEN MAKE A NOTE ON HIM. |

I'd be happy that he played like a sissy and didn't get more out of you.

Re: KK Looking for a default play
This really isn't a KK vs weak A hand b/c it's 4 flushed. I think betting the river is fine b/c you could get a better hand to fold and it's an easy fold to a raise. The turn though, dunno...that card sucks. If you knew he called down with anything then I bet, if he's tight, then I check/call.
