homegame hand: K 10o on the button
first hand of a 1/2 NL homegame. 8 players all with $100 in front. villian is BB in this hand. i have never played w/ villian but my impression is a loose-passive player who would call to much. SB...

Re: Preflop Question

Re: Another KQ suited
pf seems solid, i wouldn't lead this flop, c/c flop/turn/river. certainly seems like your up against big A/2 pair/set. big pot w/ only 3 sure outs to win or split=cheapest showdown possible. anyone...

Re: Gutshot + Overcard + Flush Draw... Thoughts?
my first inclination was i wouldn't have called a flop bet w/ just 1 over & bdfd/gutshot. however once the A hits on the turn it would seem you are good mp2 seems like he has a 7, def. not a stronger...

Re: Getting theoretical with 88
if he's definately gonna bet out w/ anything and you are commited to seeing a showdown, do it as cheap as possible. call the turn, check behind or call his river bet. the hands you beat aren't going...

Re: i folded the river. what do you think?

[ QUOTE ]
To hell with folding, I'd rather 3-bet here.
[/ QUOTE ]
i probably should have just titled this thread "somebody please tell me that this isn't the worst river fold ever"...

Re: KK river fold
good discipline to fold to the 3-bet. most would call 1 more but i aggree you are never ahead here. the river raise is a bold play. i don't think he would have 3-bet w/o an 8 or a rivered str8. so...

Re: How can I possibly be good here?
would he call down to the river w/ AK? that aside i would sigh and call, plyr dependent.i think possibly 1010-77 or A6/A4 enough for me to call 1 more against a complete tool.

Re: Waiting till the river to raise
i personally would have raised the flop w/ flush and str8 draws both being likely you can't let someone catch a free one. besides any 4 to the flush or str8 draw will call another bet. that being...

i would have definately led the turn after the 3-bet was just called. i find it hard to check-raise the turn after you showed so much aggression on the flop. check-raising on the flop might have got...

pre-flop is an automatic raise. the follow-up flop bet is also automatic. i can semi- understand the turn check raise if you think it will work in pushing him off his draw or 2nd pair. however, i...
