Default Bet out on turn or go for check raise?

Read wise this whole table was taking junk to the river. I will include thier holdings at the end of post to demonstrate. I figured at the turn one of them had a playable hand and the rest were holding junk.

I went for the check raise on the turn and no one bit. This really surprised me but I think that the way these guys played pre flop and the flop that going for the check raise was the correct play. I did bet on the river to collect the admission fee, which they gladly paid, rather than try the check raise again.

What are your thoughts?

Don't post results, Cut the action off the turn once you check.

Now prepare to be told "Bet, its horrible if it gets checked through" as everyone has now seen the result

Actually I prefer to give flush/straight draws a free look at the river with 14.5 BB on the turn.

Why did that surprise you? You ended the action with your 3-bet.

Fair enough but how would you have played the flop???

I did not see anyone slow down on the Pre flop play to 3 bets. I decided to back off on the turn but you suggest that I should have backed down on the flop. Can you explain why?

Thanks

Checking the turn makes me want to throw up and offends the poker gods. If you're going to play trip aces this way, don't expect to keep getting them dealt to you.

I think you played the flop fine. Then you bet the turn and river too.

When you checked that turn, god killed a kitten. Good job.

Ugh. Ptooie! I need to go get a beer to rinse the puke out of my mouth.

If you want to get tricky, flat call the flop raise and check-raise the turn. Nobody's going to bet for you when you 3-bet the flop just because an ace fell, dude. Even AK, or aces-up probably checks this through (but since you have 2 of the aces in your hand, both of these hands are exceedingly unlikely).

As you say, people will go to the river with junk at .5/1 6max. You get a monster, you put a heavy weight on the bet/raise button until the hand is over.

If you put in the last bet on the flop, you can't expect someone to bet the turn.

That turn check is horrible, subtract 10 master class points.
