Can you explain why you checked the flop and the turn?

Re: An Observation: Betting Speed = Tell

I've never played 100/200, but I suspect that players at that level:

(i) have invested in a fast internet connection
(ii) are giving the game their full attention and not doing half a dozen...

But I'm getting 4-bet on the flop by weak hands

[/ QUOTE ]

I think you are rarely getting 4-bet on the flop by weak hands.

After CO capped the flop, why keep firing UI on the...

Re: Does anyone here play Limit single table tournaments?

I've only dabbled at the SnGs, but am inclined to play a few more. Over 48 10+1 tourneys, I currently have an ITM of 44% and an ROI of 31%. As I said in my earlier post, that's a pitifully small...

Re: Does anyone here play Limit single table tournaments?

I've played the 10+1 and 20+2 a bit just recently, and so far (small sample size of only 55 tourneys) they appear soft and can be played profitably.

They can be a bit dull in the early stages, so...

Re: Flop 3-bet?

I wasn't going to fold to an aggro postflop villain for the flop check-raise.

My plan was to call a flop cap and fold UI if bet into on the turn. I'm not saying that's a good plan ...

Flop 3-bet?

MP1 is a loose 33/10 kind of guy preflop (only off about 60 hands though) and reasonably aggro post. I have only been at the table for half an orbit and raised two of the five hands I've been dealt...

Re: KK faces 2 cold on the river scare card

Fold.

Unless you have a particular read on the button, his preflop cap is likely to be AA-JJ, AK. With the turn and river you're only ahead of JJ and chopping with the remaining KK. And there's...

One small correction: Hero's got 9 outs to beat A2, not 6.

Re: A place that I don\'t think I can ever (correctly) fold in

Villain was a poster who checked, so could have anything.

On the turn, you have 6 outs to beat A2 and A5, 8 outs to beat 52 and you're drawing dead against 22, 55 and 34. We can probably ignore...

Estimate the value of PT

What do you estimate the value of PT to be, in BB/100?

Also, what do you think is its most valuable application?

Re: Good river bet?

"The betting pattern does not reflect a flush."

"The betting pattern shows that maybe UTG+2 and UTG are on flush draws and that is it."

Here\'s my attempt at the math

OK, I'm going to try this as a practice exercise. Apologies in advance for the long-winded post, but my math probably needs a bit of work.

I will accept Aaron's view of villain's range of capping...

TPTK on the flop

MP1 has seemed largely unremarkable to date - not overly loose or aggressive. MP3 is a loose passive chump.

Re: Bottom set to FH -- Weak or Smart?

Cap the turn.

Having just called, raise the river. You'll be leaving a lot of money on the table if you make a habit of calling this down.

Re: Just bet the damn flop?

I figured I was ahead and wanted to raise for value. As I said above, I didn't really have a clearly thought out strategy for the hand which I am going to have to work on to get better at this game....
