Re: being a dick??

Depending on the rake policy it can be awfully stupid not to chop.

How does not chopping improve heads up play? There is a regular player at Canterbury who told me that. I don't know if playing...

Re: Plz pick 5 Vegas casinos on these criteria

Ballys has the best drink service as the poker room is right next to the bar - the free drinks flow there vs other casino with a log wait.

The games are very soft, low limit.

Re: Agua Caliente in Palm Springs?

Good room with games often getting wild. A lot of these old folks are retired millionaires, so dropping a few racks is just entertainment. My son took out $1K in one night! There are a few sharks...

Re: Casinos and Taxes

A $1,200 payout usually triggers a 1099 - in Vegas recently I saw one slot maching advertisng a $1,199 pay-out.

If you finish in the money in a tournament - you will usually have a 1099...

Re: Cars under $20K

Around $18k should do it. The warranty protects you for 2 years, almost unlimited miles. I bought one and the reliability has been excellent. The dealer reconditoned it with new tires, brakes, and...

Re: East Coast vs. West Coast: pros & cons?

West Coast by Far

Much nicer people.
Much nicer climate.
Much, much, better looking (F Your Brains Out) women.
Close to Vegas - cheap plane ride
LA is a great poker town, if not the best

Re: Microsoft Office

Buy the student or teacher edition - its $100+. You can install on 3 machines.
And then you will have a legal version.
This seems to be a discouting angle by Microsoft to reach the masses while...

Re: Taking a lot of chips from a casino

Real chips are great for home games, you are essentially renting them for free. The only downside is someone ripping them off.

Re: Strategy Question I am Often Faced With

Read SSH for a better explanation, but:

In general you have to decide to isolate the raiser with postion or try and build a pot (5-6 players for 2 bets) with a speculative hand that can flop big....

Re: Canterbury Park...?

You have to got to the West Coast to find a better card room. The best low stakes games in the house are 4/8 or 8/16. The 4/8 can get wild ($150+ pots) at the right table. 6/12 for some reason can...

I wasn't critizing the book it definitely helps people stop the bleeding at the tables.

I just question the need to read it as weak-tight is so predictable.

Base on the replies here, I think...

Re: Reading What The Enemy Reads

Good thought - but I don't know if you have to read those books to take advantage of weak tight players.

How much would your strategy really vary just because you could have a guess at which...

Gambling Theory and Other Topics

I am considering buying this book.

Any opinions?

Is there an update in the works - the last edition appears to be 1994?

Thanks

Re: 109off suit bad call on flop?

I think my advice on this hand was to fold on the flop as the pot is small. Maybe that wasn't clear.
