Agua Caliente in Palm Springs?
Group of buddies will be in Palm Springs on a golf binge later in the month. Most of the members of the group like to play.
Can anyone share thoughts on the poker room at Agua Caliente? Dealers? Cocktail service? Competition? Fun level? Any thoughts appreciated. |

Re: Agua Caliente in Palm Springs?
Last I was there (12/04), they only had Limit HE - 4/8 thru 20/40. The atmosphere is nice, people were friendly, and play was generally loose, passive, and kinda drunk.

Thanks Ryno.
Somewhere in the middle of that range will be perfect for this crowd. And they're all friendly drunks, so that should work, too. |

One thing I should mention...unless your group causes them to open a new table, the room is too small to expect a group to be able to sit together easily.

You might want to checkout Morongo. The room's pretty big, lots of mid-low limit, lots of UC Riverside kids from which to steal their allowance (if not their iPods/shades).
And funky tournaments like Crazy Pineapple (fun to play drunk). |

[/ QUOTE ] Yea i agree, Morongo is a better poker room than Agua. And as stated most of the UC Riverside students are fish who will dump money into your pockets. Agua is more for elderly retired folks with nothing else to do all day except play golf and gamble. Just be sure if you go on fri or sat to get there around 6:30pm or so to get right on a table, cause 30-90mins later the rooms is going to be pack to capacity with the floorman announcing to "If you are not signing up or currently playing please step outside the room. The fire dept. just called and we are over capacity." |

Re: Agua Caliente in Palm Springs?
Good room with games often getting wild. A lot of these old folks are retired millionaires, so dropping a few racks is just entertainment. My son took out $1K in one night! There are a few sharks running around, but they are very easy to spot. It can get very busy on Fri-Sat so get there early. They will give you a pager if you ask for one if there is a list.
I liked the games a whole lot better than the big casino down the road. |
