Re: My thoughts (no results yet)

Same. Half the time I would bet on the order of 3/4 of the pot in this situation. You're leading the action; yes, you have an overpair, but let's face it, you have 8s. I'm not excited about this hand...

Re: Level 2 JJ Hand (Party $11)

I only raise less than 3xBB in levels 1-3 when I have aces, or a really strong hand on the button with 1 or 2 limpers to that point, and then only occasionally. I think the amount of a preflop raise...

Re: What do you do on this river?

Haha, well I guess the lesson is that you should have folded the turn. Man, I hate that though...that is such a tiny bet.

Note to self: Must remember...NO SET NO BET. NO SET NO BET.

Re: What do you do on this river?

Well, what hand does he have if he bets after you check? Does Q or T bet? 2 pair? Straight? That 3rd heart scares a lot of people. He made a teeny bet on the turn. I really think at this level, at...

Re: Difficult decisions on all streets with Kings.

I play mostly 5.50s, and I kind of dread seeing KK, especially early. It is a big relief for me when I manage to get them all-in pre-flop. If I play with them, I make all the moves and do the tricks...

Re: What do you do on this river?

You don't stop to think for even a second after the teeny 60 bet on the turn with the one guy after you?

Re: What do you do on this river?

You're right, my interest should not be back after the checks. It's a trap I fall into quite a lot.

However, sometimes I am going to get the T to lay down on a turn bet. What am I showing when I...

Re: What do you do on this river?

Well it wasn't the river that I was waiting for...I would figure it out on the turn by leading out the betting. But of course I should have been done with the hand after the flop...I just can't help...

Re: What do you do on this river?

Actually I live by the "no set, no bet" rule when it comes to pairs lower than TT, but that flop was checked around. My interest is all of a sudden back after that. I can probably get anyone with a T...

Re: What do you do on this river?

Yeah, but...how large of a bet will you call on the river? I just think in terms of that, and once I have that number, I'm going to bet 1/2-3/4 of that number, generally, and sometimes just bet that...

Re: What do you do on this river?

For one thing, I would have bet the turn. At the 5.50 level this guy could be slow-playing a Q, scared of the flush draw. You'd have a lot better idea with a 100 bet. You might take it right there....

bodog, and I got a response from customer service:

Re: Reportable offense?

Well, I feel all sorts of things are inappropriate, but they're not all socially unacceptable - and vice versa. I was just wondering if this is breaking a rule, or is a breach of poker etiquette, or...

Re: Reportable offense?

Thanks guys. Will report, that should make me feel better, I'm still kinda pissed just thinking about it.

Reportable offense?

This was actually a MTT, but this is my favorite forum, and it really makes no difference. Starting to get late, 15 of 55 people left, BB is 150, I am down to 500, in middle position when I finally...

Re: AQ vs. limp, re-raise, take a look

Actually, at an $11, hero calls and his AQ loses to A3...

I'm really not that good at this game, but I don't like all this checking. After the flop I guess it's okay to check behind his check, he...

Re: $20+2 : QQ -> UTG, a hand that always perplexes me....

I may be totally off here, but UTG, if I'm going to play, I typically raise my average or more. I see nothing wrong with 4x-6x here.

Re: KK hand early on

Ditto. You've got to know where you stand, and most of the time you're going to take it right there with a pot-sized or 3/4 pot bet, and there shouldn't be anything wrong with that. A raise generally...

Re: I have a sickness - need advice.

You could have a point there. Actually I think that I have already taken your advice, and that's why I lost on all these hands.

#1: I suppose this guy could have had AK, but his tightness to this...

Re: I have a sickness - need advice. Hand results.

Thanks, willie.

I did analyze hand #5 afterwards and decided that I should have raised more pre-flop. My main consideration was that everyone was playing very tight - far more tight than I was...

I have a sickness - need advice.

I'm a novice, or I suppose advanced novice, at NLHE. I gave up on ring games and only play tourneys, the 5.50 and 11 SnGs mostly, with some other low buy-in MTTs thrown in, so I'm used to a certain...

Re: Who calls in this scenario?

I've only been looking at these forums for a week, and I already think that it would be viable for an acronym to be used in place of "Do you see why?":
DYSW?
