Re: ($200) Bubble w/ Big Stack and Micro Stack

23off is a 2 to 1 dog against a random hand. If you push and the SB folds you're still only getting 3 to 2. The BB can still not survive another round. Even if you win all the chips in a SNG you...

affiliate for PokerNow or PokerPlex?

Hello,
Looking for a rakeback deal on Pokernow and Pokerplex.
Already signed up at other party skins and interpoker, so too late for them. Would appreciate anyone's input regarding a favourable...

Re: Successful SnG players:Are you usually short stacked when in the $?

If your play on the bubble is above average then I prefer the turbo SNG's on PS. They last about the same length of time, but when you get to the bigger blinds you don't seem to be as far behind the...

Can you ever play too tight in Omaha/8 ?

If you try playing any marginal hands someone always seems to have your hand wrapped up. If you play something like A2J8 your out against A23J. If you try to play KsJhTs9c your against AsKhJd2s. If...

Re: My New Record

I busted out of a Paradise $10+1 on the very first hand.
Had AA on the button, UTG raises MP player reraises, I go all-in, they both call. UTG has KQo and MP has KK. MP player makes a flush when...

Re: Normal swings

The worst downturn I've had is 15 buy-ins. However, that was at the $10+1 level at paradise where was a lot a loose action. I was waiting for spots where I had the best of it and going all-in and...

Converting UB bonuses to cash

I don't often play ring games but the bonus on UB is good if you can find a ring game with some decent action to earn the bonus. The ring games at UB seem tight and the rake is not that attractive....

Re: Quick UB questions

I think the best you can hope for late is to multitable a 30 and maybe some 20's. However with their recent promotion I noticed they had more action last night than usual. If you can get used to the...

Re: short bankroll question

For a short bankroll I would suggest the $5+.50 SNG's on either pokerstars or UB. Both have a good blind structure and should provide a relatively low variance.

Re: moving up to multiple tables?

I would suggest sticking to one table for the moment. Since you haven't played a lot of SNG's or no-limit holdem(assuming) then many different situations can arise that you may not be familiar with....

Re: Paradise $5+$1 SNG vs $10 +$1 SNG

There's plenty of loose action at the $10+1 level at paradise. Never played $5+1 because of the ugly commission.

Re: Stars 15+1 Turbo vs. Party 10+1

I actually like the $15+1 turbos at PokerStars better. The players are a little tighter early on but they don't play on the bubble any better than in Party $10+1. I've only played 45 $15+1 turbos...

Re: UB sitngo foir pts: 3 handed

I think it applies more after the flop. i.e. Blasting the other big stack out after the flop with no hand and the all-in ends up winning with King high. I've seen that a lot and it makes no sense....

Re: Earning Bonuses thru SNG play

Stars is actually the best. For every $1 in fees you get 5 points which is converted back to $1 cash. So you basically get to play with no commission.

Re: Sample Sizes

Your $4.17 profit per tournament sounds a lot more realistic than some of the ROI claims I've seen posted. At least from a long term perspective.

Re: First 150 SnG\'s Analysis Wanted

Besides not being aggressive enough on the bubble, the other thing that stands out is 12 tenth place finishes.
Are you getting married to AA or KK and can't release when they're obviously no good...

1400 miles for this?

On one of my many gambling excursions, I drove 1400 miles from Vancouver B.C. to L.A. Took the first available seat in a $10/20 game at the commerce. (Haven't bothered to get a hotel room yet; I...

Re: A Conundrum Faced on the Bubble

I much as one hates to finish fourth , I still call in this situation. UTG could easily have a rag Ace(trying to isolate you heads up) and SB who is a loose player could have a card smaller than 10...

Re: Calling a steal all-in with AJs

If you think he would do it with a hand worse than AJs. I would definitely call. There are only a few hands that have you dominated. And even if he has a pocket pair smaller than Jack's you have the...

Re: PokerStars Turbo SNGs

Try the $15+1 on Pokerstars. The vig is lower and the competition is not too tough.

Re: PS SnGs

The turbo $6+50c on PS has a lot of bad players even relative to the 5+.50 and the vig is lower. The blind increases work out similar too Party. Most of these tournaments come down too how well you...

Re: Dominated the $10 SNGs in the past, now I am being dominated

Take a day off for a start to regroup. I don't know for sure but it sounds like you're not picking up enough blinds when it gets down to 5 or 6 handed. You obviously have hit less than your fair...
