Re: Thinking on the 2nd to lowest level

This kind of play will only motivate the guy to concentrate harder and play better. Push in on the river and keep the revolution bologna to yourself.

I bet $200 on the flop and the LAG went all in with his remaining $650. I (safely) folded.

Re: foxwoods NL 300 Buy 2,4 What do I bet?

I like your thinking because I am out of position here but what do you think of a $200 or so bet on the flop to see if the guy actually has a big hand.

Re: foxwoods NL 300 Buy 2,4 What do I bet?

I should point out that the guy made it $50 with j 2 offsuit about five hands earlier and was playing a ton of hands.

foxwoods NL 300 Buy 2,4 What do I bet?

10 Player Table I am EP ($650) and have 10/10 and and bet $25 (mistake?). It is folded to my unpredictable opponent ($700) who makes it $100. I call and it is now down to two of us. The flop is J 6...

Re: Strategy discussion - party 15-30

The following strategy has worked for me.
1.) Play tight.
2.) Slowplay more.
3.) Play a little more passive than normal pre flop and flop and more aggressive postflop.
4.) Add value to...

Re: Dancing in the dark.

This appears to be a good way to get the poor guy on tilt to take another dip in to his wallet and break out more money so that you can once again beat him like a rented mule.

Re: Results

The merit here comes from the advice above about folding when you get caught bluffing. At first the guy correctly put you on nothing for the same reasons you put him on nothing. But then..your...

Re: Never Did This Before

I used to chuckle at people in the casinos who wore sunglasses but there is no question it helps in distinguishing suits of cards at the center of the table. If your eyesight isn't great I strongly...

Re: Figgin\' KK UTG

Tough one. Id be very concerned about the button having a set here (what else would he be three betting)and I would put the fishman on a draw (qj) which would make a third king less helpful. Id...

Re: First hand at main game, KK (10-20 muckleshoot)

If its the tight Bernie (or I didnt know much about him) I would check raise the flop.
If its the loose Bernie I would (as you did) wait until the turn to check raise although with the third...

Re: What I Did

Horrible fold. Raise 80% of time smoothcall 20% (so you drive people out with turn raise. )

Re: 22 in the BB

I would fold this unless there are enough callers (with a little implied odds factored in) to justify drawing for trips. 2-2 is a very weak hand and its even weaker out of position. (I know people...

Re: How bad is this online fold?

"yet I felt folding was better than paying two more big bets"

You only needed to pay one more big bet to see your river card.

Re: Calling a raise with 98off

"Now if your mindset is such that you dont feel comfortable unless you *do* flop 2 pair or better, maybe you need to work on your shorthanded postflop gameplay"

Maybe so but, if you think that one...

Re: Calling a raise with 98off

Against an EP raiser (assuming I think the guy knows what he is doing which I will admit is often not the case online) I will usually fold this. I am out of position with a weak hand against an EP...

Re: Playing in a loose game with a maniac...

Im folding this preflop.
If I dont fold preflop I would probably call on the flop with the gutshot and chance for another five.
The decision to fold preflop may be close to boderline ev wise but...

Re: foxwoods

Barry
Sorry about the bad run. One piece of advice for foxwoods. Try 5-10 kill instead of 10-20. 10-20 at foxwoods is tough to beat. Very tight (often weak) but tight. Even 20-40 is bettor...

Re: Fancy Plays: Check-raise bluff from the blind

He was fooled if he folded on the river an equal or bettor hand than oblivious, but I think we are saying the same thing i.e. this play should not scare the raiser.

Re: Fancy Plays: Check-raise bluff from the blind

The check raise was smart from the stand point that it forced the checkers to call two bets or fold. And as you say it was probably +ev, Im just surprised however, that it fooled the raiser.

Obvious bluff Oblivious

Albeit online and you are in SB your check raise is not scaring anybody into thinking you have a duece. There are just too few hands people play with dueces in them.
But on the other hand it...

Re: loose game 10-20 hand #3

This seems exactly how WTEP would play AA or KK here. I would strongly suggest he out you on 888 or 666 here.

Re: loose game 10-20 hand #1 (Tell)

Against this guy I am not so sure about all the betting preflop. Why get into a betting match with the guy so it suddenly becomes correct for him to call postflop. As far as the tell goes I think...
