Any Absolute Poker players?

They don't seem to be on Poker Pulse.

Anyone know if they have many tables going?

How do you like the site?

Re: Hm, I made a straight

I put him on a suited ace, for two pair. Not strong enough to push preflop, which explains why he did not show early strength. He is less likely to have trips because he did not show strength on...

New one for beginners

"No-Limit Texas Hold'em" is brand new, by Daugherty and McEvoy. (McEvoy co-wrote the well-known "Championship No-Limit). I've been reading it and it is solid.

Rather than check, another option is to make a wimpy-sized bet. Their call will give a wee bit more of a win, and might induce a big bluff. A check looks to much like a trap. A check may induce a...

Re: AA Fold?

I say call and hope that he has an overpair, rather than a set. I agree that the reraise is for value -- he has a made hand. A set or overpair more likely than two pair, since those would be cruddy...

Where can I get these statistics...

If you take a given hand, say JTs, it wins or loses a certain percentage of the time. Now let's take just the set of wins. Sometimes you win with top pair, other times with a straight, once in a...

Re: Celebrity poker is the worst

I liked watching bad play. We see nothing but experts most of the time. It is useful to watch their thought process.

Re: What limit should I play starting online based on my live experience

I tell a person not to play too low, and you interpret this to mean I'm saying they should play too high. Typical web debate -- misrepresent what was said, then attack the straw man.

If you play...

Re: What limit should I play starting online based on my live experience

Don't go so low that it does not hurt to lose. When the level is chump change to you, it adds another layer of difficulty to your discipline.

I put him on AKc

He's worried you have trips, so wants to represent trip kings. But if that does not work, he's hoping to land the nut club flush.

Re: How about this

The problem with setting a limit is that then everyone will go all-in up to the number of times that sets off a penalty. Mgt. should examine the records of suspects so they can make allowances for...

The riskier places

I'm convinced that bonus hustling is much more dangerous at the sites connected to casinos, especially Microgaming software. These sites, as a rule, have long histories of stealing the balances from...

Plenty of people do not feel like saving their all-ins. So the creeps are guaranteed the right to cheat once per day, which they invariably do on big pots. And with the perception that "everyone...

If you'd read a little closer, you'd know that one of my culprits admitted what he did, and said everyone did. Another poster reported the same thing -- a person admitting it and not knowing it was...

How about this

The house actively seeks to identify all-in abusers.

When they find one, they revoke the all-in privilege completely.

Another possibility: when they identify clear all-in abuse, they deduct...

All-in abuse out of hand at Intercasino/Cryptologic

I've played online three years and have never encountered hardly any all-in abuse -- until starting at the Cryptologic collection of poker rooms (Specifically Intercasino).

I unloaded on one...

I think the implied odds are good enough here to call, there are several more players who may think it's a bluff, giving you 4:1 or better pot odds. And if you hit, you'll get paid off a minimum of...

State and federal

Some states have passed laws specifically outlawing internet betting. If you are in one (check) then your lawyer friend is correct.

If there is no state law, then your lawyer friend does not know...
