Default Bonus Whorers

Calling all bonus whorers!

I am well aware of the bonuswhores site, however I wanted some personal feedback on any whoring adventures anyone can give me.

I have done Party (and the Skins), UB, Stars and now am at Pokerroom. All have gone very smooth and the raked hand requirements for Party/skins is very quick, but pokerroom is a little longer.

Again, i ahve read the bonuswhores site, but i was just looking for a "make sure you STAY AWAY from site X" or "make sure you gotta hit Site Y" etc etc. As well as some sites that may not be listed at BW

Thanks for you time and energy
Josie Wales

I have only done Party (and the skins). What direction should I head in now. I play mostly 3/6 now. I am looking for a good game plus a good bonus. Thanks for your help.

Don't forget Paradise. Nice site and bonus is much like Party but given to you in portions of every 100 raked hands.

Default The riskier places

I'm convinced that bonus hustling is much more dangerous at the sites connected to casinos, especially Microgaming software. These sites, as a rule, have long histories of stealing the balances from players who are there for the bonus rather than to lose. The places that began primarily as poker do not have the same mentality, and have not systemitized ripping off advantage players. At Microgaming, Cryptologic sites, I would be very careful to play considerably beyond the bonus requirements. Otherwise, the following is standard procedure: if you lose your money, you lose. If you win, they lock your account, seize the winnings and bonus, and sometimes return your deposit. This is routine, and it would take effort to reorient the staff to be nice to the poker players, and that's not the sort of effort casino owners are used to.

Beware of Pokerroom. It takes forever to clear the bonus.

I finally gave up. I need to go back sometime and finish it out.

Paradise and True Poker are on the bonus whore "A" list.

Pacific ($50 max), Golden Palace ($100 max) and Absolute ($100 max but 30 day waiting period) are on the "B" list.

UB is offering a reload bonus ending at 9pm EST today.

If you haven't done the IGMPAY bonus you can still get it at Party. I just cleared mine yesterday.

Go to the Party cashier:
https://www.partypoker.com/my_account/index.htm

Pick IGMPAY and follow the directions. Set-up is like Neteller, they make 2 small deposits to your bank account and then you login and tell them what they were. Takes a couple days to set-up.

When you make your deposit use "IGMPAY" as the bonus code. Bonus is the standard 20% $100 max, 5x raked hands to clear.

Bill,

We can't speak for other poker room operators who got their start in casinos, however we can state unequivocally that our casino division does not lock the accounts of players simply because they win with the bonus money that they receive.

Accounts are only locked and funds withheld in relation to play with bonus money if it can be proven that the player in question has intentionally defrauded the casino by (for example) taking multiple bonuses with flagrant disregard for the posted terms and conditions of the bonus offer.

In contrast, "advantage play", whereby a person plays (for example) optimal strategy blackjack in order to legitimately profit from bonus money is not grounds for the locking of an account and / or the withholding of player funds.

We have covered this issue, as well as the question of the "mentality" of casino-and-poker-room vs poker-only sites in previous threads - see here for our maiden post (in which we were mercilessly flamed and grilled on these exact issues) as well as here for our follow-up response (in which we responded to many of the issues raised and were again flamed and grilled but on a slightly lower heat) if you want some extra bed-time reading
