I agree with lil. You are not getting the proper odds. You are an ~8:1 underdog to hit your set, but you only have a 3.5 SB in the pot. In a tight game, even if you hit your set, there may not be a lot of action.

Since they limped, they probably have connectors. You may well be ahead at the moment. Hopefully blinds and button will fold. Use position! If the remaining two or three do not hit the flop, you are in steal position. If they bet out, fold. If they limped because they have low pairs rather than connectors, then your show of strength pf may drive them out with a bet on the flop. If you don't take it with a flop bet, shut down.

You must have misread my post. I said he should usually limp. The rule of thumb is you would like about 5:1 odds pre-flop when limping with a pocket pair. Although he doesn't have it yet, there is a good chance he will get it.

Small pairs thrive on implied odds not effective odds or pot odds.

It all depends on who is in the pot. Most of the people at that table would not have limped with baby suited connectors, unless this was well after I had left. Again this is all player dependent, there is no definite way to play this hand without a read on your opponents. This table was so aggressive that unless you are planning to go to the river regardless of what happens(which can lead to you being an underpair to the board here) I suggest you either limp or fold..raising is setting yourself up to either get limp-reraised or to attach yourself to a pot that you probably aren't going to win against 2 opponents. Then again, position might win it for you here, so in classic fashion, a summary of my post would be:
