Re: USA Today preseason poll

Anyone putting Texas ahead of Oklahoma until Texas removes the "Oklahoma's beotch" label is silly. Similar to those who kept ranking Florida State ahead of Miami when they kept losing over and over...

Re: What to do with the number one pick

[ QUOTE ]

People don't realize that in many leagues, Culpepper had a better fantasy year last year than Manning.

2. Provide any "normal" scoring system that...

MP limps, he's pretty weak and very passive preflop

I'd check behind on the river, unless he suddenly give action after the flop, which is atypical.

i like the turn and river play, however the flop check sucks.

Does it? I know there are lots of people but that's a nothing board, and if I can get someone to bluff or...

Re: A hand

[ QUOTE ]
please explain why you didn't 3-bet the flop.

[/ QUOTE ]

I figured that with BB leading out on that board, he either had one of 3 things: A weak pocket pocket pair, a huge hand (AQ...

Another Hand

3 limpers to the CO who had posted. He checks, I limp on the button with As8h. Blinds come along.

The flop is Ad 6d 2s and everyone checks.

The turn is the Kd. Very aggressive player in EP...

A hand

Table has been a little irritated with me. MP limps, he's pretty weak and very passive preflop. I raise on the button with QhJdo. BB defends, he hasn't won a hand against me all night and is hot....

Re: Bellagio 30-60 - Check top pair twice

I'd checkraise the turn. I posted a slightly similar hand yesterday. You don't know that you'll get paid off on the river and UTG sure looks like he's drawing or maybe has a weaker suited ace. ...

Re: 50-100 River Check

[ QUOTE ]
Now, when I bet the turn, it goes muck-muck suprisingly often. Maybe even someone folds third pair or something sometimes since my turn bet is into two opponents and they are weak tight....

What happened

Flop is Ac 9s 3h. I check, MP checks, button checks.

Turn is 7c. I check, MP bets, Button calls, I checkraise.

River was a 3, I bet,...

I like it in that if you're up against anything but two super-passive guys at least one of them probably won't be able to pass up the opporutunity to try to buy the pot when you check...

Re: Commerce Hand #2

[ QUOTE ]
Not a bad line, IMO. I probably would lead on the turn, however. I hate the chance to give another free card to someone who picked up a club draw, or some other half-ass draw.

[ QUOTE ]
Were you planning on CR the flop?

[/ QUOTE ]

It depended on the action. Bet-call, most likely yes. Anything else, no.

Easy fold.

Re: A simple leak i need plugged

AJo doesn't have to "beat" villian's range of hands, it simply has to somehow compete, given the potential dead money in the blinds (50% of hero's 3-bet investment) and hero's superior...

Re: 30-60, JJ in the BB

It all looks good to me except for preflop where it's an raise that you need to be making not only with your JJ, but also with hands like TT and KQs. I like the river bet.

Re: KK in BB

Hi Marrek

I don't mind smoothcalling the flop if you believe you can get in a checkraise on the turn. 3-betting is the easier and more straightforward line though and I wouldn't disagree with it....

Commerce Hand #2

$100-200 hand that I played a little unconventionally for me.

Decent semi-pro raises in middle position. Very loose player with slightly above average aggression cold calls on the button. I...

Re: A simple leak i need plugged

If you aren't comfortable that AJo is better than his range of hands there, then it's ok to fold, but against many 3-betting is a better option if you are on the button or in the cutoff.

Would...

Re: results

I think your opponent played it well.

Preflop cap can accomplish two things. First it is deceptive and second the 3rd player will likely fold for two more bets at least some of the time. SB...

Re: 50-100 River Check

If you know on the turn what you claim you knew on the river, namely, that they would never fold ace high on a board like that, then I think the correct play is simply to check behind on the turn...

Re: Party 15: Top Pair, 2nd Kicker gets checkraised twice.

I would only bet that turn if I can safely fold to BB's checkraise. That's a card that could hit either of your opponents. He's only moderately aggressive yet he's coming back for more after you...
