Ignore the blue port that doesn't work. It is probably tied to your mainboard as integrated video which you would only want to use as a last resort.
Instead of trying two monitors first verify...

Is the blue port that is working next to the white port? When using the white port are you changing the input on the monitor to DVI-D with the button on front of the monitor?

Buster is right as far as the 2001fp is concerned, the buttons will reposistion the monitor but not resize it. I made an earlier post in this thread that you could resize, but checked again after...

When connected to the DSUB port and operating in analog mode you can resize the screen. Use the OSD menu on the monitor and you should be able to make the adjustments you need to fix the problem.

Upgrade the video, the 128MB pci express video card they offer is much better. Plus it has dvi output...

You might look around in the BIOS and see if you disabled the SATA drive when you reset to defaults. It might be listed as an add in boot device or something like that.
