computer?
I really know very little about these things. I don't do any gaming on it mostly poker and surfing and my wife does school work on it. Are there things that need to be changed. Is this a good price or should I wait. I'm in no rush.

[ QUOTE ]
TOTAL:$1,544.00 [/ QUOTE ] that's fine if the 2001FP is included in the price (looks so). should last at least 5 years if not longer. software can't keep up with hardware nowadays - the exact opposite was true 10 years ago. |

Re: computer?
That's a pretty nice system. Definitely overkill for the uses you outlined. If price is a concern for you, you can get one of the cheaper Dell models, and you would be plenty happy with it.
Otherwise, go ahead and get this system, it's a good price, and it will last you several years before you need to upgrade again. BTW, nice call on opting for the 2001FP. You'll love it, I love mine! -- Kevin |

Re: computer?
There are several things about this setup you might want to change or at least think about.
Upgrade the video, the 128MB pci express video card they offer is much better. Plus it has dvi output which I can't tell if the integrated video does. You might also want to think about getting a DVD burner either as a single drive or dual DVD drives. If you have a reason for wanting the media center version of XP you will probably want a dvd burner at some point. The 2001 flat panel is listed for $561.75 on there web site by itself, when configured with your system specs it list for $699.00. You might to check the price on the monitor if you decide to buy. Check their website again because I think you can come up with a better price. |

Re: computer?
I would add about 80 GB to your 80 GB Hard Drive (aftermarket)
Otherwise thats a mean system, as another poster said it is probably overkill for the uses you outlined, but it gives you the security of knowing you will not have to replace it anytime soon. |
