Re: A hand from the WSOP $1000 Rebuys

I think you got the pot size confused. $50 ante (assume 10 players) $1,400 raise, $500 SB fold and $1,400 call from BB. Total is $3,800. The all-in is smaller than pot. Only moves are all-in or...

Re: A Response to Hellmuth and Matusow

I found it funny when Mike ws interviewed and he was complaioning of the horrible play of the amateurs he discribed one of the hands. He said that he made a big raise from early position with Q8 and...

Re: HOW TO SCREW UP AT THE FINAL TABLE

I think that the preflop raise is not that large (2.5 BB) and cold calling doesn't cripple you. The only hands that dominate you will call your all in preflop, so the only hands you gain info on the...

Re: UB Sunday Tournament Call for Pot Odds?

It was a tough decision. One of the players could have had Ad xd. You see people push all the time with the nut flush draw. It is a tough call if you are nearly drawing dead. Folding was not bad,...

Re: results and thoughts

I think you miscounted your outs. You had 15 to a probable winner (you probably counted the Kd and 8d twice). With 15 outs, you are about 57%/43% against your opponent.

Re: Two critical hands from the PPM IV

First hand seems like villian has JJ-KK. In your post you state he has T2k. I don't see how he can raise. I probably call him down. With AA or KK he should have capped the pre-flop betting. If...

Re: My thought on inexperienced players playing the WSOPME

You can and I assume you do. Do you get together with others and play poker? Does everyone throw in $5.00 and play a single table tournament? My nephew does. He goes and competes with adults all...

Re: First hand of my first live tourney and I am crippled please help

Your post states that everyone folded to your raise. I assume you had one caller.

Pre-flop - standard raise is 3-4 x big blind plus one big blind for every limper. You probably want the riase to...

Re: Doyle\'s take on calling small edges vs folding

As MLG has pointed out in another thread, his style would differ from the situation in Doyle's book. The main reason is starting chips and time per betting level.

If early in a tournament with...

Re: Equal\'s update at PPM4

You had the best of both worlds. You said your friend would have taken the cash instead of playing and you thought playing was worth the memories.

You played, got the memories and the cash. ...

Re: Aggression check: 10xbb, open-push JTs in CO?

You may be surprised by how well that hand does against the hands that will call you. JTs is 58% favorite against any pair and any ace (obviously against the collection as a whole). So your move...

Re: Under raise rules question...

Any all-in bet that is less than the bet or raise before it (could be several raises of different amounts in no limit game) is considered action only and is not considered a raise.

Re: Home Tourney - 1 rebuy

They have a tournament once a month in my area that is very similar.

Like most tournaments, you should not force the issue. You may go 1 hour treading water and then triple up in ten mintues. ...

Re: DEEP in the Stars 20:15 $10+1 Rebuy -- Desperation time?

If you would be in heaven with J9, an easy push with J6. I understand the benefit of a straight draw, but you are hoping not to be called. Good place to be (folded around to you). If called, in...

Re: In the Money $50+5 Bounty Bonanza on FTP

For odds purposes, your post said there was T2,800 in the pot and T3,000 to call. The pot is T5,800, with T3,000 to call.

You are on the verge of being short stacked. So I don't mind your...

I think you gave your own answer.

Your described play seemed great up to the bubble.

Early - played solid (tight) and built stack.

Middle - loosen a little and steal when right

Bubble -...

Sometimes players are so bad, you can't beat them. I make this statement only after experiencing it first hand. I am not talking about fish on the net. They are good by comparison. My experience...

Re: Set of Jacks against open ended straight draw

I agree with Sam.

More agressive pre-flop, after that you made it expensive to outdraw you. Some hands a just going to lose no matter what you do.

The villain was getting a little over 2 to 1...

Re: Large Caps Hand - Raise, several callers, re-raise

You can not use the stop and go because you will not be first to act.

You must make up your mind if you are going to pot commit yourself before you act on the reraise. If you are, either push...

Re: All in reraise preflop...How strong a play is this?

[ QUOTE ]
If I assume that the raiser is only playing solid cards, I am a 3 or 4 to 1 underdog. The pot has 2600 with 1000 for me to call. Not exactly the right odds.
