Two critical hands from the PPM IV
first hand is on the bubble, 195 players or so.
I started the hand with about T34K and QQ, someone open raised, I 3bet, the villian coldcalled. flop was T72 Villian(T2k) is a very conservative old man. Not a Bellagio weaktight nit thoguh. anyway, I bet, he raises. where do I go from there? next hand UTG player open raises. I started the hand with T24K and we are playing 4k/8k. I have AKs. Do I: a) decide I'm willing to go down with this hand. b) call and see a flop. or c) fold. |

Re: Two critical hands from the PPM IV
i'm a little confused with the T34k,is this 34k stack or 134k?,i'm new on here, but haven't encountered the t in front of the stack yet.if you had only 34k and the blind are 4/8 k,you'd be crazy not to play qq or ak for all your stack, and with qq and all undercards,i'd have to push there also,no matter what the villian bets, and guess he had a10,you could be beat, but i can't see folding there,i'm not sure if you could expect a better flop for qq.

Re: Two critical hands from the PPM IV
1. the tournament is limit holdem not no limit
2. the first hand we are playing 2k/4k limit (1k and 2k blinds) 3. the second hand is not on the bubble, at thsi point I'm guranteeda 10k payday. |

Push on the...uhh...turn. edit edit: Hand 1 is tricky but your options are to call it down or fold right there. If he's THAT predictable you're ahead of exactly 6 hands and behind 15, maybe 12 since he probably doesn't coldcall 3 bets with tens. I could go either way, but evidently, you folded? |

Re: Two critical hands from the PPM IV
I call him down 1st hand.
2nd hand I call for a flop and see what develops. Get back to your element w/ those belagio barkers. PGA71 |

Re: Two critical hands from the PPM IV
First hand seems like villian has JJ-KK. In your post you state he has T2k. I don't see how he can raise. I probably call him down. With AA or KK he should have capped the pre-flop betting. If you feel he is weak and will only call pre-flop with KK, I would go with your read.
Second hand, you don't say where you are sitting. If you are the big blind and it is folded to you, easy call only. If you are middle position, you probably need to raise and get heads up. I don't think folding is an option with this premium hand and short stacked. |
