Re: How\'d I play this one?

Against a maniac, I reraise with this hand. That is along the lines of what I meant. I never would simply call.

Re: How\'d I play this one?

Just wanted to say that you answered that beautifully. In this type of game, I'd rarely call a raise cold with A9o, even with posiition.

Re: Full Tilt Poker - What do you think?

[ QUOTE ]
How do you know its really the pros playing? I would not be surprised if they make "token" appearances, answer a few questions and then have a shill take over.

Re: Full Tilt Poker

You make some excellent points, Mike. I was unaware that the pros did not keep any of their winnings from the site. Maybe Full Tilt should pay people to sit and play (poorly) in the low limit...

Re: Full Tilt Poker - What do you think?

When I first became a poker enthusiest, Andy Bloch was one of the first pros that I rooted for. I really like the guy and always pull for him. Can't fault a guy for playing to win!

As far as the big tourney they have in August, the winner gets to play 4 pros for up to $50,000 more to add to the win. Also, the pros will have bounties on them, and will not be...

Re: Full Tilt Poker - What do you think?

Andy Bloch has won a bunch of the small tourneys, including a freeroll yesterday. After what happened at this year's WSOP, maybe they see it as practice for beating the amateur tournament player.

Full Tilt Poker - What do you think?

I am a Party Poker regular, but I decided to download Full Tilt poker to see what it was all about. After depositing $100, I spent the entire day yesterday playing on the site. Some thoughts:

Re: AK against multiple opponents

Hey Don,

I play the PP $10+1 single table SnG's. The reason I don't call all-in's early on with AK is all based or risk and reward. The reward of doubling up in that spot is not worth the risk...

Re: Good lay down or way to weak?

I think you can play JJ pre flop either way, and that's just what I do to vary my play. I do think that JJ is one of the toughest hands to play and one that I have screwed up many times in the past...

Re: AK against multiple opponents

This is a very general question that would be better answered with more specifics (i.e.# of opponents left, what level in the tournament, stack sizes, etc.). But generally speaking, AK against...

Re: RESULTS:

Even though I hate risking being eliminated so early in a tournament, you have to like your odds of 77 versus a random hand. The only time I could see not calling is if you were by far the best...

Re: Good lay down or way to weak?

That whole hand reeks of Aces. I have seen them played that way a ton of times.

Re: SnG 1st Hand, was my thinking Good or flawed?

Question

If you call and the turn brings a diamond, now what? I have a real problem when presented with this situation.

Re: SnG 1st Hand, was my thinking Good or flawed?

First, I limp with the 77 and call up to a 3x BB raise, but that's just me.

The object with mid to low pocket pairs is to flop a set and bingo - you did. Due to the flush draw and all the...

Re: Holes

Brett - that is basically my strategy, which I got off of a post here. Most of the time I will catch a fish with my premium hand and I can get some early chips. Then I go right back to the strategy...

Re: When do the SnGs get gooood ???

I played 3 SnG's this afternoon (1:00 pm est)while at work. The table didn't loose a player until level 4. I played 4 tonight (2 1st's /images/graemlins/cool.gif )and on average 2 were gone before...

Re: Weak play or good lay down?

What was the buy in?

If this was a typical low buy in game on PP, I'd have pushed all in when he re-raised pre-flop. I wouldn't be willing to give him credit for a limp reraise with pocket aces. ...

Re: What would you do?

I am relatively new to SnG's, so this is just an opinion. Against one player, I'd probably call without even thinking about it. With 2 people, your hand has more to withstand, assuming you are not...

Re: Party Poker 2/4 HE, 38.5 BB Pot

I had just been beat on the river the hand before and didn't have a chance to rebuy - hence the short stack.

The raise on the end was idiotic. No agrument there.

I'm not quite sure of your...

Re: Playing with a Friend at a B&M

So you suggest just taking the first available seats (most likely at different tables) and then one of us asking for a table change to the other's table? I guess that makes the most sense.
