Re: Tunica - Gold Strike
I'll be there the weekend of the 19th. One of my friends is getting married nearby, so we're staying in Tunica. We're arriving sometime in the middle of the afternoon on Friday, staying there Fri/Sat...

Re: Played it wrong?
After your raise on the flop, the cold-caller might as well hang a sign around his neck that says "I have an Ace." What did you think he had, since you were hoping for a 'bluff' on the river?

Re: is it worth it
I think the chance that one of the two opponents having the flush, given the action, is very high - nearly 100%.
My original calculation was a bit off as I assumed only one opponent rather than...

Re: is it worth it
It's not nearly as easy a call as everyone seems to think it is.
When you flop a set, you're about 35% to fill by the river. Let's assume that at least one of your opponents has the flush...

Re: Stealing the blinds with a mediocre hand
I don't think there's any way for you to get away from this hand postflop. The SB could be check-raising with any number of hands, trying to steal the pot. It's just bad luck that you happened to hit...

Re: AQs in BB - tell me what to do
I'd push here. This is probably the best flop you could have asked for other than KJT rainbow, and you very well may have the best hand.
I like the call before the flop. If you hit a good flop,...

Re: Abuse the Limper
I wish I found more opponents like this.
But.....to answer your question, I think you can make this play with any two cards. I wouldn't raise all-in, though, because there are times when someone...

Tunica - Gold Strike
Hi all,
I'm going to be in Tunica next weekend, staying at the Gold Strike. Can anyone enlighten me as to what games are spread and the typical fishiness of such games? I typically play 3/6-5/10...

Re: Results
Wow. Not what I expected to see on those two hands, that's for sure. It's tough not to see the results and think a call would have been the better play, but I still think in general the fold was...

Re: Risk my stack?
Haven't yet seen the results, but I think it's an easy fold. Is it likely that with an all-in raise AND an all-in caller that you're the favorite to win the hand? At best it's a coinflip and at worst...

Re: Play more hands or fewer?
I'm almost positive I play far fewer hands in a tournament than I do in live play. I don't have the stats in front of me to back that up, but I'm fairly certain that's what I'd find.
I also...

Re: Banging my Head against the wall
Hmmmm.....I'm not sure that I could have gotten away from this one either.
It all depends on your read of the button. Is he the type that will try to pick up the pot with a raise after 1 limper?...

I play 99% of the time online, and I never show uncalled hands. With software programs like PokerStat and PokerTracker, it's too easy for opponents to collect and analyze information about my...

Re: Folded KK once.....but not twice
[ QUOTE ]
Here's my reason, if a good player is in the BB with AA facing only a MP raising the amount that you did, why in the world would he put you all-in and most likely blow you off your hand....

Re: Folded KK once.....but not twice
I like the way you've presented this.
Let's say I am BB with AA, facing a raise and a re-raise. Obviously the first raiser could have anything, but the 2nd raiser must have a hand he likes, likely...

Re: Folded KK once.....but not twice
I wouldn't say I'm scared of AA. It just seems that in my experience, a third raise all-in following two raises is almost always AA - with the exception of maniacs, and I don't think this guy was. In...

Re: did I overplay this hand?
I don't know that I would have played 77 for two raises from the SB, but that's just me. Not knowing how the table is playing, two raises means my small pair gets tossed in the muck - especially...

Re: Cracked set - losing control of a great hand
I think a bigger raise on the turn would have been better. I don't think the flush draw would have gone away, but it's better to get your money in when you're ahead and someone else is drawing -...

Re: Poker stars hand for review.
I would take the free card here. Both the SB and BB have large stacks compared to the rest of the table (with the exception of the button), so maybe they're playing table cop to what may be a steal...

Re: Question to all internet players
There's a drop-down menu on PokerTracker. I can't remember what pulldown it's on (Utilities, I think), but it's called Auto-Request Hand Histories. You then tell it how often and how many hands and...
