Re: is it rude to buy in for $300 in a 4-8 game?
20-30 bb is typical unless it's a kill or 1/2-kill game. For a normal $4-8, $240 (200 red, 40 white) is usually fine. Most people don't care; If I see someone with $400 or $500+ in front, I always...

Re: Mohegan Sun
I'll have to double check my sources, but I think late-surrender and doubling after spliting are the two big options available. I've never seen surrender allowed in AC. Basically if you catch a...

Re: Mohegan Sun
No poker since '02 or was it '03. But, MS and FW both have some excellent blackjack with a house edge of like 0.33% vice like 0.44-0.48% you'd run into in Atlantic City.

Re: America west airlines (try southwest)
America West is always crowded, charges $5 for snacks (until they run out) and will bitch-slap you for $100 if you have to make any change in plans. Southwest from Chicago is comparable and easier...

Re: Borgata 6/12
It's been about 6 weeks since my last $6-12 there, but thought it was a lot easier to beat than lower limits. I've found $340 a good start or $240+100 in reserve. It tended to get short handed...

Re: MGM Vegas ?
Played there twice in July. They had 4-8 w/half kill one nite and w/full kill the next. Both were fairly soft, as in calling down with middle/bottom pair, but some didn't care for the full-kill...

Re: impossible to beat cardoorm 2/4 game?
As I'd said, my experience is limited, but: 90% of the games I've seen from $2-4 to $6-12 have been EXTREMELY passive (almost silly passive), and unless you're playing with retards you might want to...

Re: impossible to beat cardoorm 2/4 game?
Rule of thumb given in some books indicate a reasonably tight player might see one std dev (68% of the time) of 10-12bb/hr (it's what I've seen, so I believe), two std dev (95% of the time)...

Re: impossible to beat cardoorm 2/4 game?
In my limited time at $2-4 and $4-8 (20 hours), I was consistently small loser (-1.5 bb/hr). In 18 hours of $6-12, I'm +1.3 bb/hr. Granted it's an insignificant sample, but doubt I'm much smarter...

Re: Pager system for waitlist
It's silly not to have a system. It would have to be able to pay for itself. Why wouldn't you want 80-100 people on a weekend wandering off for some slots or blackjack while waiting for a poker...

Re: TRULY ONE FOR THE AGES (TAJ NL) 4 of a kind
Truly inconceivable a sober player above $2-4 (or even $4-8) could be so clueless. I haven't given the no-limit cash games a go as of yet, instead focusing on getting comfortable at $6-12 (only 10...

Re: How much is $6/$12 Small Blind?
The game goes quicker, less making change and less fumbling with chips, if you get red and white and make up a $48 or $60 candycane (51515151) stack to work from plus some odd whites for sb.
