Re: Ax steal
I've often struggled with the claim that pushing live cards (suited connectors and hands like Q9) is a better play than pushing Ax. I have looked at live cards against a range of hands in numerous...

Re: What\'s Your Line Here?
CSC's suggestion to call surprised me, but it is greater EV by my calculations. I think I'd choose to call. Comments on calculations or other considerations?

Re: Question from a Rookie on MTT
I'm not sure how this particular 4-1/6-1 situation would come up, but I think about it this way.
Let's say that there are 50 other people in the tournament as good or better than you that also...

Re: Pass up EV for double-up EV?
Thanks for the responses. I guess I might have underestimated the value of those 3k chips and understated chance of doubling up with 88. I think you guys are probably correct, but I figure it is at...

Pass up EV for double-up EV?
Is it possible for plays like this to be +chipEV and -cashEV? I am assuming that you go all-in or fold here.
Basically, I think this play is +chipEV because of the likelihood that everyone folds....

I know this is a little off topic, but I am wondering what the rational for the raise preflop is. That isn't a play that I make. Is that a standard play for a lot of people? I realize that there is a...

Re: odds of getting either of AA, KK, AK = 2.07%?
A better way to analyze this is to use choose.
P(AA,KK,AK) = (#ways to get AA + #ways to get KK + #ways to get AK) / (# ways to be dealt two cards)
= (4ch2 + 4ch2 + 4*4) / 52ch2
= 2.11%...
