Re: A tough decision

It is so difficult to play these hands early with no reads.

To the BB, your bet of 3xbb + 30 for the limpers just means you have a hand you don't want to play in a multi-way pot. In general, that...

Re: LAG practice, caught raising with Q3o now what?

Good quesion.

1) nah, they still think you are a LAG (lol)
2) A good thinking player will expect you to wait for good solid values to bet now that you've shown down Q3. If there are good...

Re: Near the bubble, short stack, hand analysis

Thanks betgo.

Yes, folding to a club on the river may be weak/tight, and if it had come to that I would have been outplayed. Maybe getting all the chips in the middle before the river is the best...

Re: Near the bubble, short stack, hand analysis

I didn't mention in the original post but he...

Re: A hypothetical situation

Pre-flop the PL player can raise to $50, the LH player $20. If the open raise is called the PL player is playing in position for a $115 pot, and out of position for a $55 pot.

After the flop the...

Re: take KTo vs two small stacks, and maybe a 3rd?

Lets look at the options you suggest:
Fold: There is T16500 in the pot, with these odds, folding is not an option.
Raise to isolate: MP2 has 1/3 of his stack in the pot. Only a very weak player...

Re: Call w/ any two here?

I think the posts on this thread are a clear indication that valuable contributors in this community already have a good understanding of "inflection points".
(I'll still buy Dan's next book though).

Re: Super Monday Tricky River Decision

Good analysis.
Before we get the news on what villan was holding (because we know our hero called). I'm voting for the most likely holding of AK with the King of spades.

Re: Super Monday Tricky River Decision

This line of play looks like you decided before your pre-flop call that you were going to re-raise the expected bet from the LAG on the flop if you were heads up, no matter what the flop was.

You...

Re: Hand from Super Monday - easy preflop laydown?

I would try to think ahead to what the chip leader is likely to do on the flop. If you call you have ~1k behind, ~700 in the pot, and I would guess, acting first, he is going to put you to the test...

Re: playing drunk

I am playing a tourny right now with two players who are calling to the river with bottom pair and a coordinated board.

I am pretty sure they are drunk (or stupid), so I am "randomizing" my play...

Re: techniques for letting out frustration

Play a Heads Up match at a limit where the money is significantly below what you would normally play for your bankroll. As in, you really don't care if you win or throw away your "small" entry fee....
