Default Call w/ any two here?

This is from the $60k Guaranteed Masters tourney on Paradise. There are 43 players left and we are already ITM.
Blinds are 6k/12k. I'm in the BB and I have 17,474 left after posting.

I'm playing to make the final table...don't care too much about jumping up the money ladder for $30 - $50 more.

Table "$60k Masters 56" (MTT) -- Seat 6 is the button
Seat 1: scrites1 (41,474 in chips)
Seat 2: vegan213 (75,218 in chips)
Seat 4: MESAMIKE (64,688 in chips)
Seat 5: GOGAM (82,657 in chips)
Seat 6: cockfghtr (200,456 in chips)
Seat 7: fit582 (40,717 in chips)
Seat 8: Hero (30,074 in chips)
Seat 9: JRoscoe72 (127,466 in chips)
Seat 10: frredrrik (25,108 in chips)
vegan213: Ante (600)
MESAMIKE: Ante (600)
GOGAM : Ante (600)
cockfghtr: Ante (600)
fit582 : Ante (600)
Hero : Ante (600)
JRoscoe72: Ante (600)
frredrrik: Ante (600)
scrites1: Ante (600)
fit582 : Post Small Blind (6,000)
Hero : Post Big Blind (12,000)
Dealing...
Dealt to Hero [ 2h 4c ]
JRoscoe72: Fold
frredrrik: Fold
scrites1: Fold
vegan213: Fold
MESAMIKE: Fold
GOGAM : Fold
cockfghtr: Fold
fit582 : Raise (34,117) all-in
Hero : ????

Is 24o just too nasty of a hand to call with? Even though I'm losing aout half my stack here if I fold? I'm pretty sure 2 4 would be live cards lol.

You're a 5-3 dog against two overs and getting over 2.5 to 1 odds. You're going to lose 2/3 of your stack in the next orbit. Call and hope you're up against overs and not an overpair. As you said, should have 2 live cards.

Exactly what I was thinking! Anyone disagree and say fold this?

This is a call and about an even bet.

I think you have to call this even if it was not an even bet because if you fold here you will probably be going out in the next spot or two anyhow with less than 1XBB after you post the small blind and ante., but if you win you will have more than 5XBB and are likely to advance a few spots.

Approx, your calling T18,000 into a pot of T48,000 so your getting 48:18 or 2.66:1 in the pot and have to be 1/(1+2.66) in the hand ~27%.

If SB pushes with: any broadway or any pair then your about ~28% in the hand.
If SB also pushes with any Ace or any K (likely) then your chances go up to 30%.

Not disagreeing but, 5-3 is the good news.
Your 5.6:1 against a pr (except 33)

I think if he flipped up a4 I'd still call.

Well, he pushed w/ J3s (not bad, huh?) and caught a J on the flop to place me a 43rd.

Has anyone actually won w/ 24 or some other trash hand in this situation and go on to make the final table?

Your call here is fine. If you fold, you're down to $17K and will have to win a coin flip just to get back to 30-40K, back to where you started. Win this one pot and you're upto 66 K. Point is that you'd have to win 2 pots if you fold. Call and pray the button doesn't have a pair.

If this were live play and its folded around to CO or button, anyone push out of turn to try to prevent a bluff?

I think the posts on this thread are a clear indication that valuable contributors in this community already have a good understanding of "inflection points".
(I'll still buy Dan's next book though).

Sure, lots of times. I'm looking for a jam opportunity in the 2 orbits prior to this situation. Sometimes, they just don't come. When I fold UTG and have just over 2 BB's in my stack, I know I just committed to any 2 cards in the BB.

It's a difficult thing to do, but a neccesary lesson if you are going to have any success at all in tourneys.
