Re: Chip Reese comment as applied to Bankroll

I think the most important consideration isn't how much money you have in your Party or Stars account, it is how much you feel comfortable and can afford to lose. If you make $90,000 a year your day...

99 on CO; T high flop

How should I play this? Turbo with a $15 buyin. A major leak of mine is giving absolutely no respect to bets that are less than 1/2 the pot. How should I handle small bets? It seems like 80% of...

It was funny, but also sort of frusterating, considering I lost at least 4 hands where I was way ahead.

Re: Being \"pot-committed\"

[ QUOTE ]
I think it's a term that should never be used, except by bad poker players. (I'm not saying that good players never use it. I'm just saying I think they shouldn't)

Re: 8-8 hand - I suck at tournaments

[ QUOTE ]
If you read the situation to be a coinflip, i'd gladly take my shot and put him all in.

Re: 8-8 hand - I suck at tournaments

how did you read that he only had two big cards? wouldn't he have played 99-AA the same way? Aren't you risking a lot of chips. I think you should have re-raised preflop (pot size plus 33%), then...

any merit?

How bad is this play? Does it have any merit? I sensed weakness and wanted to steal and figured I had a 30% shot at drawing out. I'm on the bubble with the 2nd shortest stack.

Re: Incorrect flush draw vs. Correct flush draw

One question concerning raising (or check-raising) a flush draw, do you need to consider the chance that the orignial bettor will re-raise? My guess is that you welcome this bet, b/c you have the...

I'm wary of advice about playing hands because they are "easy" and "fun".

Re: close but no cigar

I'm very confused. On these boards I've been told that folding J9s from EP is an "easy fold". Now I know that J9s is a considerably better hand than two fours. What gives?

Re: What did they have? (low content)

Normally the rule is that the betting round has to start with only two players. So the cap would have effect on the turn, but not the river.

Re: When To Check-Raise?

I think it is very important to bet the flop to avoid giving a free card. I'd probably bet the turn too; again scared to give a free card.
