Re: Easy flop fold?

[ QUOTE ]
I'd need another 4 or so small bets in the pot before I'd play this hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

7 called preflop for 1 SB. If you need another 4, that's 7+4, or 11 SB. You would only call if...

Re: 3/6 hand standard

I disagree with the flush draw read. The implied ods just aren't there to justify a raise with just a flush draw. If it were me, and I had two overs and a flush draw, then I would raise, but then I...

Help me improve my post-flop play

So, last night I decided that I needed to improve my post-flop play. So I decide to head down to my local card room and sit down at the lowest limit they had - 1/2. I make the decision to play...

Re: passively played str8

There's a big chance you are behind, but you can't fold a straight. I would cold-call a single bet on the turn and river, but fold to a raise.

Re: are these types of hands getting me in trouble

Huh?

You did what?

Bet with nothing... no draw... nothing?

You are on a stone-cold bluff.

No, those hands are not getting you into trouble. Your play is getting you into trouble.

Re: passively played str8

Think one of these 5 players is on a flush draw on this flop? You have 6 outs - not 8 (7/images/graemlins/heart.gif and 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif aren't outs since they complete the flush). ...

Re: HU against a decent opponent in the blinds

If the OP has read HPFAP, then he know that he's supposed to play tight/AGRESSIVE - not tight/passive. So many players today play tight/weak. I don't understand it, but I'm certainly not...

Looks like SB slowplayed his A, had a PP higher than 77, or ties you with a 7. That or a complete bluff. What's your read?

Re: Bet and Raise On Turn

Looks like UTG+1 has a 9T, raised pre-flop with his open-ended and hit it on the turn. Perhaps SB has QJ. Either way, it looks like your AQo is no good. I would fold.

Re: Daily Hand - Folding TP to a LAP in the SB on the turn

[ QUOTE ]
What about a play where I was to raise on the turn? I am sure I would be behind on the turn unless I made two pair, but it can help clarify if I am drawing dead or not. That silly logic? ...

Re: The Good, The Bad...The Ugly? (8/24)

#1 Perfect.
#2 My first thought was to put CO on a flush, but the flop cap HU doesn't seem to support that. I'm thinking a set or 2 pair. Bet/call the turn, then check/call the river. If he has a...

I think if you are going to check this flop with this many people you should be doing so with the intention of check raising to thin the field. I like the rest though.

Re: Top 2 Pair on the Flop

Why oh why did you raise PF in MP1 with KJo? KJo is a fold / call hand for me, with the emphasis on fold. It's a trouble hand to say the least. It's so hard to tell if you have the best hand or...

I'm going against the crowd on this one and suggesting something else.

On the flop, he had the opportunity to 4-bet and didn't. Why? Was he waiting till the turn to put another bet in, or was he...

Re: KK on this turn

You need to bet the turn to see where you are at.

Once you bet, if they simply cold-call, then you are probably still ahead. If MP1 raises, then I would fold. He probably has you beat. If MP2...

Re: Do you dominate your home poker games?

Be careful. I got banned from almost every home game I used to play in because of that. Now the only home games I can get into are these crappy .05/.10 games. I do it because it's fun to play...

Re: Need suggestions for improving a home game structure

I would suggest LOWERING the stakes. One of the friendliest (and fishiest) games I play in is a $2 buy in, .05/.10 NL game. I usually win between $2 and $6 in our weekly 3 hour game. We never have...

To fix the flaws, I would make the following change:

Start the side-tourney once 10 players have busted out.

As more players bust out of the main tourney, they get an entry into the side...
