Re: Opinions on upgrading Win98 vs. new computer....

Celeron? Is that a poor man's Pentium?

I just checked the dell site. Even the low-end desktop for $500 comes with a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz....

Opinions on upgrading Win98 vs. new computer....

First of all, I'm a Mac guy, don't know a great deal about the PC world....

I've been playing poker on a hand-me-down PC: Win98 Gateway desktop 128 MB RAM, 500 Mhz Pentium II processor.

I'm...

Decent estimate for my AQo being dominated....

My virgin run in the probability forum.

Is this an acceptable estimate for my AQo being dominated in a 10-handed holdem game?

With 50 cards still out, there are 1225 two-card combinations...

2/4 average pot size

Maybe it was wishful thinking, but I had heard that the 2/4 games at Party skins were better than the 1/2 games....mostly because of better game selection and more 'identifiable' blinds for B&M...

Re: Suited connector poll

As sfer pointed out, calling a raise with a suited connector cuts your implied odds in half. I’ve become accustomed to that ‘rule’ over the past couple months. But what seemed counterintuitive to...

Suited connector poll

Party 2/4 10-handed: I’m on my second orbit with no player reads. I joined this particular table because the average pot was 9BB…so far, table seems loose-passive.

Hero is CO with 6...

Can Pokertracker show me hands where I was check-raised on the turn?

I found a way to filter the hands where I check-raised on the turn, but is there a way to filter hands where my opponent check-raised the turn?

Any input is appreciated.

Re: Flop decision poll

[ QUOTE ]
I do a lot of autobetting after a pfr, but this is one I would just as soon get away from. I'm not running all 6 opponents out of this hand. I'll call one bet and fold the turn...

Re: Pocket queens against one brutally ugly flop

I can't put UTG+1 on a J yet, and I'm not ready to fold my queens in a decent pot with some decent outs (2 Q's, backdoor straight and backdoor flush). If I was UTG+1 holding a flush draw I would...

Re: Did I just discover a leak?

Good to see some other numbers.

I went through some of my hands today and found a few situations where I'm in EP with overcards that completely missed the flop and I'm betting into a multiway pot...

Re: Did I just discover a leak?

I figured I'd get a visit from Sample Size Man. You're probably right though. But, similar to how ranges of VPIP and PFR can be narrowed down relatively fast (say 10K hands), I figured any deformed...

Did I just discover a leak?

When I raise preflop, it seems like I nearly always bet out (or raise) on the flop.

I was worrying about this today while I was browsing through my Pokertracker stats and I found a section I...

Re: Making the blinds as \"profitable\" as possible

Hey Gatts. I use SSH starting hand recommendations (tight) as a reference. Right now my VPIPSB is 31.84 and VPIPBB is 14.78 (overall VPIP is 18.34).

When there are a few limpers, I usually...

Re: bank roll eaters

I think trying to "avoid" hands like these is looking at it the wrong way. Don't quote me on these exact numbers, but to give you a general idea.....in your limit poker lifetime AA will win...
