Either Ameristar or Harrah's is fine IMO. Ameristar has a (somewhat) bigger variety of limit games; the 5/10 hold em game is usually very good.

Harrah's is LL and Low NL. Ameristar has a wider range of games and is a nicer room. I prefer Ameristar, it's about 2 miles down the highway from Harrah's.

the 3 casinos that have poker are Ameristar, Harrahs, and the President. Stay away from the prez. but I think you'll be fine whether you choose Harrahs or Ameristar. Harras has 3/6, 6/12 and NL. ...

I would have played it the same way you did. I wouldn't 3-bet the turn as I'd think I was behind to two pair. The check on the flop would confuse me a tad but I would just go ahead and bet out...
