Re: hand reading exercise
Hmm, there's still something wrong with the posititions pf, but I'll give it a try... Some assumptions: MP1 is MP1, ie 4 ppl did not fold, only 3 (UTG, UTG+1, UTG+2). You are BB. This is ten-handed...

Re: Lose bets not pots?
You're probably beaten since the only hand villain possibly could have that you beat is a busted flushdraw (diamonds). But then again, you're getting 9.5:1 on the call, and with no read I wouldn't...

Re: Overcards hit with Turn Raise
Betting the turn is fine, you're rooting for your opponent to fold. Once it's raised, folding is fine. It's not just the flush that you're drawing dead to.

With 3 limpers before you, there's 4.5 bets in the pot and it costs you .5 to complete, so you have 9:1 odds. That's more than enough to justify completing. And that's just...

Re: Cold-calling donks
I know you said you fully understood the reasons for not cold calling with offsuit big cards, but I just want to put some numbers to it.
You are dominated by 5.7% of the starting hands, and to be...

Re: AA, set, question about opponent\'s play
When you raise two posters from the CO, you could have quite a lot of hands. But when you cap the flop, you're showing lots of strength on this board. Villain probably puts you on some broadway of...

Re: When a multiway pot becomes HU
Another difference between this situation and many HU situations is the pot size. It tends to be bigger when lots of people saw the flop. In a small pot HU, I might get tricky with a hand such as...

Re: KJo - Did I Play This Right?
The river raise is really thin... I put UTG on JT, J4, T4, and among those hands you're only ahead of T4. Add the fact that button might fold Tx, 4x, 7x. I think you would prefer him to overcall...

Hmm, this is interesting...
Ok, first of all, you're getting 7:1 on the flop, with 6 probable outs, so you have odds to at least call. So the question boils down to raise or call...
What reasons do we have for raising here?...

Re: anybody folds this river?
I think calling the flop is fine. You're (probably) not going to make a better hand fold, if you're not up against one already. The probability that you will make a Q fold is probably not that high...

Re: Weak Kings?
Betting the turn is alot better than calling the river. A flushdraw might only pay you off if you bet the turn, also you really don't want to give a free card to someone holding a 6, who has 5 outs...

Re: Loose Flop Call?
I think raising pf would make this hand (and other scenarios) easier to play, and you also have equity, so I think it's the better choice.
But after calling pf, I would play it just as you did.

Re: KTo from SB on a coordinated flop
What about if SB had raised pf?
I'm thinking that then raising would be correct, and hopefully then JT/images/graemlins/spade.gif would have folded /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Sorry 'bout the bump, but I felt it would be OK since of the three replies, the comments regarding my first action was 1 fold, 1.5 call and 0.5 raise.
Basically, when I played the hand, I...

I would say take the free card right now. If there's a chance you may win the pot right here, then bet. If there's a chance you may buy the pot on the turn if you bet now, then betting might be...
