Re: Ladies Night II
Here's how I look at the situation:
The AK is faced with a large preflop raise and an significant all-in re-raise.
AT WORST both Zhang and Gowen have pocket pairs. Gowen's must be good enough...

Re: Are these laydown\'s insane?
You will be the short stack on the table if a) the entire table tightly folds and allows the 2.5BB guy to pick up a round of antes and blinds, or b) heaven forbid he is forced to go all-in and...

Re: Help for loose aggressive tournament strategy
I think most of the books that discuss tournament strategy are based around a structure that is longer and favors skill more. I've noticed the very same dilemma you have as the round times shorten...

Problem with Wilson Tournament Texas Hold\'Em
I have this very consistent problem: If one of the computer opponents simply limps into a pot then it will call any raise and even any re-raise made by any number of players acting after it. ...

Re: Foxwoods This weekend.
There are taking registrations for ALL events now, so if you find yourself at the casino any time prior to the events you wish to play then it would save you a long wait in line to pay earlier.

Poker Software for B&M players
I'm looking for a decent spreadsheet/database program that I can use to record all my sessions: dates, times, limits, buy-ins and buy-outs, tournament expenses and wins, etc.
I'm looking for...

Re: WPT Borgata Open satellites
I played in two $200+20 super-satellites for the 10k event. Both ran 12 hours or so, with around 200 entrants. I suspect the last super to run, on the Saturday before the main event, will attract...

Re: What\'s another word for shut the hell up!!
You: Hey, do you like dentists?
Him: No.
You: Me either, but you have your mouth open so much I'm starting to feel like one.
Seriously, call the floor and have the floor instruct the player...

Re: No Limit Concept
I don't understand why you would WANT to get called by a set or 2 pair when all you have is a draw.
A set has 75-25 odds against you. I will call your all-in every time with a set, knowing you...

Re: Questionable Ethics?
Only the UTG can straddle, and some rooms allow multiple chain-straddling. Straddles are blind raises that allow the UTG the option of re-raising himself when the action comes to back around.

Mind you, it was put to a vote to ALL dealers, blackjack craps and everthing else. The poker room dealers almost unanimously (everyone I've asked, basically) would prefer to keep personal tokes...

Re: suited connectors
I guess I don't understand the point of this thread. You are asking for a guideline rule to help decide how much of your own stack (5%? 10%?) to call preflop with, given your suited connector. But...

Re: Two Hypothetical Extremes
Poker is a game of partial information, where more information equates to better returns. However information is too simple of a term for this question.
The best source is a consistent, orderly...

Re: Results
I don't think the opponent is incredibly passive here. He has a pocket over-pair in late position against an aggressive better that is leading out each round. It is a simple play to play behind and...

Re: Foxwoods 5-5 NL hand
Interesting move. If you think you have the best hand, then it was a good one. If you are bluffing to take it then, you might screw yourself. What if someone at the table informed the dealer that,...

Re: Do you ever wish you were innocent??
I agree with this.
I play poker because it is fun to play. The fun isn't always tied into the money I win or lose; that is, a winning session isn't necessary for me to have a successful day. Yet...

I watched him fold to...
