in tournament poker will you take a 1/3 chip loss to spot a tell?

Re: my HU strategy for PP 10+1
Surely calling an all in with 22 cannot be correct? I'd probably also extend that to 33/44, as you're essentially hoping you're a coinflip?

Re: Dodged a bullet, feelin\' ashamed
With the blinds at 25/50, I don't think it's late in the tournament.
I also doubt that A6s or J8o would have called a limp-push if they did raise preflop.

Re: KK on the bubble
I instacall. You've made what looks like a positional steal, so villain could be using big stack and the bubble to bully you out of hands, and give himself walks in his future BBs.
Even if he has...

Villian calling any raises with 10 3 off is....retarded
[/ QUOTE ]
Villian was getting 3.5:1 on his call. You're correct that Hero needed to raise more preflop though.

Re: Party Freeroll
I don't like the flop push; you're almost definitely behind, and drawing to 6 outs. Assuming SB is the 34K stack, he pot committed himself by calling your raise to 20K, I'm surprised he didn't push...

Re: Party rebuy hand
I'd be inclined to put villain on an underpair here, I would imagine AQ/KQ smooth calling to allow you to stab at the pot on the turn, with no straight/flush opportunities on board.
This is...

Re: Last hand of a tourney.
I'm not sure what you're ahead of here that MP2 would be raising with preflop (AQ, AJ?), and with your comparative stack sizes, I'm not sure that you have much FE by pushing the flop and forcing...

Re: Do you make a continuation bet here with KK?
I nearly always make a continuation bet in this situation, but am very wary if it isn't enough to take the pot down. I find with the preflop raise it's very easy to represent AK/AQ with the lead...

Re: A hypothetical WSOP: ME bubble situation
With a stack of 10,000 chips and small blinds, you're not looking to eke into the money. On the bubble with a miniscule stack and looking for the deck to drop the big elbow on your from the top rope...

Re: All In With The Best Hand
I'd push with 75% pot equity every opportunity I get in early-mid stages of a tournament if I knew it would get called every time.
Going all in with 75% pot equity 4 times in a row, you won't lose...

Re: A hypothetical WSOP: ME bubble situation
I edited my earlier post to take into account the antes, and that this is probably a bankroll management question.
In addition, You're down to the final 10% of entrants in the ME, so the level of...

Re: First MTT
I call this almost without hesitation, and expect to see a flush draw or two, an AJ, and maybe a set of 4s or KK-QQ. Of course it's possible that one of them is holding the only hand that beats you,...

Re: A hypothetical WSOP: ME bubble situation
If folding will guarantee I sneak into the money, then this is an easy fold for me. Doubling up to 6-7BB isn't going to take me up another 100 positions, and in the best case, calling will bust you...

Re: Curious hand...
Are we ruling out AA-QQ here due to the lack of a reraise preflop? Could the check-raising with a set not indicate UTG fancies himself as somewhat of a tricky player who was on a slowplay, but...
