Re: QQ vs preflop raiser and an Ace on flop

Looks like UTG is not gonna fold here, among possible raising hands here you can only beat JJ or 99 KQs (less likely), so I would fold at the turn. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: AKs in the BB

I would play the same here too. Against 1 or 2 opponent you may try to bet the turn unimproved and hope to win right there. But time and time again I see my opponent calling me down with any pair. ...

Re: Good laydown of pocket Kings?

You are absolutely right. I just said the fact that flop has three clubs cut my chances by half, not to mention various other hands that could beat me. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Good laydown of pocket Kings?

I think this is very helpful. Thanks. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
One small question to clarify, if your decent opponent reraise your bet, you can put him on these hand too right? So when you mean...

Re: Good laydown of pocket Kings?

Just curious. Would you 3bet PF with pairs like QQ, JJ or TT?
If I 3 bet, I am giving out the info that I have a high pair. Is it sometimes a concern or I am too weak tigh here?...

Re: Good laydown of pocket Kings?

I just try add some of my analysis here(of course I added it later /images/graemlins/cool.gif):
There are 10 clubs out of 47 unseen cards, so the chance that any one of the guys have a made flush...

Good laydown of pocket Kings?

This is my first time post my hands and really want to know your opinion here. Flame welcome.
Loose online low limit game. I have a good run so far this session up about 50 bb until I see K...

Re: holdem prop question

Yes, it would make skill less important. If you want to extend this to a extreme that it would be capped at every street (no fold allowed), then there is absolutely no difference between skills. ...

Re: Good, Bad, or Ugly?

I like the analysis. Two key points in your river situation:
1. you assume you will lose the caller if you raise, but he would call one cold.
2. you assume you opponent has you beat 50% of the...

Re: how hard can i play two pair?

I like your post. /images/graemlins/cool.gif
I would check/call the river if my opponent is a decent player, but you never know in low limit games. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: JJ against the field

IMO betting straight is better option. Since there is only one jack and you are not sure if it's active, so there is no garantee that someone would bet. But on the other hand, people would hardly put...

Re: Hypothetical Hand---RF Jackpot draw

Read story about Phil Helmith(?) and wonder where can he get all the training needed. I cannot believe you are not allowed to play poker under 20 but you win WTP at 22?
I have not even heard this...

Re: Hypothetical Hand---RF Jackpot draw

GuyOnTilt, no offence.
Here is my calculation:
1/47+1/46*(46/47)=2/47
draw the first card 1/47
miss the first card but draw the second card = 46/47*1/46

Another way to calculate this is...

Re: Hypothetical Hand---RF Jackpot draw

You have one outs in straight flush. chance to hit the river is 2/47, so the expected value of bonus is 2/47*500=$20=2BB. Itself not enough, but it adds a lot of implied odds to your play. ...

some math

I think you have a call here.
Let's assume he has AK, AA, KK, QQ, JJ for conservative assumption. The ratio is roughly 2:1:1:1:1. Of course the fact you have a ace changes the ratio a little bit,...

My view

If you try to outguess your opponent and he is smart enough to do the same, here is an interesting view: (of couse not realistic here in LL)
Lets say you would not raise with AQo AJo in EP. Since...

Re: Party Poker - 5/10 Shorthanded

I play a lot of short handed game before I found myself way too loose in big games and try to forget totally what I used to do. So I barely remember how to play short handed games now.
For example,...

Re: Losing a capped river heads up

I think you play it fine. A better ace will raise you on the river everytime so your reraise is correct in case he has only trip A. He play not aggressive enough. It pays you off in the long run....

Re: is this fold too weak?

with 3 flush on board I would fold here as well. The best case you are against a pair of King and you are not sure about your kicker. Of course he could bluff, but its not heads up and the pot is...

Re: Fun with tight aggressive players

Here is what I would do:
hand 1. I would just cold call PF, you are not likely to thin the field by capping but giving your hands away. But I think raise here is fine too. If you think UTG is TAG...

Re: Smokin on the outs.

truly unbelievable! nice play!
I wouldnt be that aggressive before the turn. But it's even better if you get more bets and don't drive them away. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: ok to slowplay here?

I would play exactly the same.
Lee Jones said that if you made a non-nut flush on the flop, you need to play quickly (because of the overcard of the same suit). But this is somewhat different case...
