Re: Rated NC-17. Hide the kids for this one...
Another reason to know the types of players that you play against.
If (albeit for some absurd reason) you are the small blind without an Ace here, and you made it to the river (which admittedly,...

Re: I suck at the river, part 1
A side note to learn from this post (which has made me a fair bit of money over time):
If you are EP in this situation, and the flop aggressor is a TAG type of player who is capable of folding on...

Re: \"bet fold river\"
I think I'm the opposite. I can almost never bet-fold on the river.
If I bet heads up, I'm 99% of the time calling a raise. If it's a threating board that I've been betting most of the way, I...

Re: party badbeat jackpot tables
I've been playing at the 5/10 bad beat jackpot tables almost exclusively for a couple of weeks now.
As for the table selection, after data mining for quite a while, at least 75% of the tables that...

Re: Is it Even Close?
Last time I tried this against a similar maniac (stats of 100/93/5.1 over 90 hands - seriously) who was down to his last few bets, the board came down TT5, and my unimproved AKs ended up staring at...

Re: Bet this River when Checked to?
Thanks for all the advice everyone.
After looking at all the comments here, and thinking about it again, I definitely agree that a bet is in order on the river.
Thanks!

Bet this River when Checked to?
BB is 38/0/0 (26 hands) - essentially a pure calling station
UTG is 32/6.5/1.1 (46 hands) - for the most part staightforward from what I've seen, nothing too tricky
Should I be betting this river...

After thinking about it some more, the BB is likely to bet, you definitely have the Button beat, so going for the overcall is better than betting and being raised by the BB.

Thanks again everyone - even more good input for me to sort through!

after his open-limp on the Button and all his flop cold-calling, I do think there's reason to be concerned that he...

Re: First Hand Post
Thanks for the advice everyone.
I guess part of my thinking along those lines, with the action given, is that by betting the turn and/or river on this will win me one bet if I'm ahead, lose me two...

Bet the turn, you have a made hand and the second-nut flush redraw. Why did you check the river with the nut flush?

Question from a Low Limit Player
Hi All,
I really only play Low Limit games right now (nothing bigger than 5-10) but I read a lot about playing in the higher limits, to keep myself learning as much as possible.
As I read...
