Default party badbeat jackpot tables

anyone care to share an opinion? what do you think of the jackpot tables? 2/4 and 3/6?

my impression is that they would attract worse players, shooting for that jackpot. on the other hand i sat down at a really tight 20% table, which surprised me to say the least. overall i've been doing pretty well on them. plus bonuswhores points out that after a certain jackpot amount it's actually +EV to pay the extra rake.

Much looser tables, but the extra rake being taken off will definitely destroy any extra profits you might have gotten from the softness of the games.

No, but seriously, it's something I regularly do when the jackpot gets big enough

And incidentally, the bigger the jackpot, the more bad players it will attract.

Generally speaking, I don't bother with the bad beat tables unless the jackpot is huge and/or I find a buddy there. There are usually enough loose games on the normal tables.

I hear this said all the time and, since I pretty much exclusively populate myself at the BBJ tables on Party, would like to know how many BB/100 you feel that I'm giving up by playing there.

That depends on the limit you're playing. You're giving up around 1BB/100 at 2/4 (or slightly more) and this declines as you go up.

Somewhere in the area of 50 cents per pot won.

Seriously, it would depend on the limit(s) you're playing. The higher limit, the more likely it is that a slightly looser table would make up for the 50 cent/raked hand "tax".

When the jackpot grows big enough, your equity in the jackpot is enough to make up the difference. Bonus Whores has it broken down according the amount/limit where your equity balances out the $0.50/raked hand fee; of course this does not take into account whether or not play at the tables in general is worse (I haven't noticed it, if it is).

I'd really like to see some math showing that I'm giving up a full BB/100.

EDIT: I play 2/4.
